Husband Kisses Wife’s Head Before Delivery And Whispers 5 Words

It’s hard to put into words how we feel when we find out we’re going to be parents for the first time.

The vast majority of us are just overjoyed to learn that we are having a kid, regardless of whether we are expecting a child as a mother or a father.

Our first reactions are hopeful ones. Maybe we fantasize about our child’s appearance or the things we’ll be able to introduce them to.

We all wonder what it will be like to finally get to hold one in our arms.

But alas, not every pregnancy ends in the joy we are taught to expect.

The narrative of Phoenix, Arizona native Carlos Morales, whose life epitomizes the bittersweet essence of life, is a painful reminder of this truth.

Carlos and Erica Morales appeared to be a perfect combination.

The couple originally began dating in 2006 after meeting at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona, and despite a language barrier that made things tough—Carlos didn’t speak English and Erica didn’t speak Spanish—they were unmistakably attracted to each other.

Carlos and Erica reportedly spent much of their first night together dancing. Carlos gave Erica his number after the nightclub closed, and she was free to use it as she pleased.

When Erica misplaced the piece of paper with Carlos’ number, it seemed hopeless. However, it appears that fate had other ideas.

After reuniting through common friends, the pair quickly acknowledged their growing affections for one another.

Carlos showed his dedication by studying English so that he could have meaningful conversations with Erica. Meanwhile, Erica studied the Spanish language.

The happy couple tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2007 and immediately began attempting to start a family.

A miscarriage tragically terminated their first effort. But Erica got pregnant again with the help of fertility treatment, and this time the pair was in for a huge surprise.

At Erica’s first sonogram, the radiologist told her that she was actually carrying four babies.

Carlos and Erica’s anticipation of becoming parents to quadruplets grew as the months passed.

Erica’s health quickly deteriorated after carrying four children, so Carlos did his best to take care of her while still taking on household responsibilities like cooking and cleaning.

Erica was brought to the hospital on January 12, 2015, due to her hypertension.

She texted Carlos to let him know that the doctors wanted to deliver the babies as soon as possible because of her persistent contractions before he could join her there.

When Carlos arrived, he and Erica made sure to document the occasion with photographs and film.

Supposedly, just before Erica entered the delivery room, Carlos kissed her on the head and murmured, “Let’s get these babies out.”

Little did he know that day would be life-changing in more ways than one.

According to Carlos, he and Erica’s quadruplets—three girls and one boy—were delivered via C-section.

“We were so excited to start our family,” Carlo said, as per Yahoo. “And then it all came crashing down.”

Tragically, shortly after giving birth, Erica experienced hypovolemic shock, a syndrome that is characterized by significant blood and fluid loss.

Carlos was visiting his wife at the hospital when the room’s alarms went off and the nurses rushed in. While doctors and nurses attended to the mother, the new dad was ordered to wait outside. However, Carlos learned that Erica had passed suddenly when a doctor arrived an hour later.

He reflected, “How could this have happened? She was fine, and then she wasn’t. She was alive and then she was just gone. I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life. My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.”

Carlos named his three children Carlos Jr., Paisley, and Tracey after suggestions made by his late wife. The third little daughter he named “Erica”.

On January 16, 2015, the distraught father was permitted to bring home two of his children from the hospital. Two others were released on March 11 and sent home.

Despite the great sense of loss and the anguish he felt at his loved one’s passing, Carlos knew he had to be there for his children.

The father of four attended baby-care classes to learn the ins and outs of bathing, feeding, and settling his children down for the night. In addition, he was educated in lifesaving techniques.

Sondra Bridges, Erica’s mother, eventually moved in with Carlos to assist him in taking care of her grandkids.

“It’s funny how things turn out,” Sondra said. “Bittersweet, but at the same time, thanks to God, and the outpouring support of the public, it’s been phenomenal. And I’d like to say thank you to each and every one of you. All the support we’ve gotten from you, we appreciate it.”

The birth of each of Carlos’s children must have sent his emotions through a whirlwind.
