Dad Gets Shamed For Using Leash With 5-Year-Old Quintuplets

Raising a child is not an easy task. With my firstborn only a month old, I would certainly know the humble beginnings of it! However, not many people understand that.

Most parents would put their children’s happiness in the first place, and yet, some people find ways to judge that.

Living with one kid is not an easy task, but with five?! A father of 5, Jordan Driskell, 31, knows that too well. He and his wife are parents to 5-year-old-quintuplets, and even a simple trip to the nearest supermarket can be a whole journey and logistics.

Zoey, Hollyn, Gavin, Asher and Dakota used to go in a 6-seat stroller, but as they grew up, they would rather walk than sit in a stroller. That was just a heavy task with all the things that might happen if they are left to walk alone.

To have them all in front of his eyes, Jordan uses a child leash and his kids adore it.

He posted a video online of the quintuplets on a leash during a walk to the aquarium. The video went viral with over 3 million views and gaining traction as you read this. But people ridiculed and criticized Joran for using a leash.

One person said: “They are humans, not dogs,” another one commented: “Can’t you just properly train your children?” Discuss to them why fleeing is risky.” Most comments had negative connotation.

“If you can’t manage the pressure, don’t have so many kids,” one person said.

“That’s a disaster. If you can’t handle that many kids, don’t get kids at all,” another one stated.

Most people judged Jordan on his parenting, but expert Dr. Deborah Gilboa, a parenting and adolescent development specialist, says that this is an inventive solution. She doesn’t believe his kids are treated like animals and on the contrary, it’s better to walk them out with this solution than to keep them at home.
