The Survivor Of The Tourist Submarine That Collapsed And Claimed The Lives Of Six Individuals Disclosed The Harrowing Moment When They Realized That Something Was Wrong
The woman who was on the Sindbad tourist submarine that sank in the Red Sea and killed six people has discussed the moment she knew something was wrong.
Around 290 miles (ca. 467 km) from Cairo, Egypt’s capital city, the submarine sank yesterday (March 27), near the city of Hurghada. There were guests on board.
Many people love to travel to Hurghada because it is close to the Red Sea and lets people dive and explore the sea life there.
The Sindbad submarine is meant to take tourists on a trip to see some of this marine life. It goes about 25 meters deep and has screens so that tourists can see what’s going on around them.

There were fifty people on the submarine when it sank: fifteen crew members, forty tourists, and six tourists who died. Another 29 were taken to the hospital.
The Russian consulate said that the submarine sank about 1 km from the shore. All six of the people who died were Russian.
Elena Boldareva told the Mirror that the sub started to dive while some of the hatches were still open. She was one of the survivors of the deadly accident and talked about what it was like on board.
At that point, she said, people started running to try to get away, and “some managed to swim out, some didn’t.”
As people on the ship tried to stay alive, she said, people on boats nearby tried to pull survivors out of the water and to safety.
It was said by someone else that they were about to get on board when “the submarine suddenly started to sink, even though the hatches were open,” which made them move away from it.
The official investigation into what happened is still going on, and Amr Hanafi, governor of the Red Sea, said that the ship and its crew had the right “scientific certificates.”
There were also people from Sweden, Norway, and India on board. Everyone who was on board, live or dead, has now been found.
The Russian news source Tass said that two of the six children who died when the submarine sank were children.
This is the second tourist tragedy in the area in the past few months. In November, a tourist yacht that was sailing through the Red Sea after being told about rough water sank.
At least four people killed in that accident, but 33 others were saved.
