‘Sister Wives’ Janelle And Kody Brown’s Son Garrison Last Text Message Is Heartbreaking

The death of 25-year-old Garrison Brown, the son of Sister Wives actresses Janelle and Kody Brown, has left his family and fans in deep sorrow.

Tuesday, Janelle posted the devastating news on Instagram, saying, “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him.”

She continued: “His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.” Kody also shared the same statement on his Instagram page

In a statement to People, Flagstaff Police Department Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II verified the tragic event, stating: “On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home.”

Gabriel, 22, Garrison’s brother, discovered him dead from what appeared to be a suicide. “At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating,” Lt. Hernandez continued.

The network that produced Sister Wives, TLC, released a statement expressing their sympathies, saying, “We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Brown family at this difficult time.”

In addition to siblings Madison, Logan, Gabriel, Hunter, and Savanah, Garrison was a member of the polygamist family headed by Kody and Janelle when he was first presented to viewers in 2010 through Sister Wives. In December 2022, Janelle filed for divorce from Kody, making her the second wife to do so following Christine. Later, Meri left as well, leaving Robyn as Kody’s only surviving wife.

Tensions have been apparent between Kody and his children in recent years, especially between Gabriel and Garrison, who have shown dissatisfaction with Kody’s management of the COVID-19 epidemic.

“I was met with just a wall,” Gabriel shared at the time. “And there was no line of dialogue. I think that that is what really drove the wedge between us.”

Concerning her sons’ mental health, Janelle mentioned Garrison’s apparent change in behavior and Gabriel’s intense feelings. “I have worried about my boys’ mental health. Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” she said before adding that Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be.”

The last text message

Prior to Garrison Brown’s suicide last week, Janelle Brown sent one of her boys to see how his brother was doing. The reason for her action was related to his last communications.

Police say they spoke with the “Sister Wives” star on Tuesday after learning that Garrison had shot himself, according to the police report that TMZ was able to get. They also explain what Janelle claims were unsettling texts Garrison had been sending to some people the day before.

According to the police, Janelle informed them that Garrison had sent menacing texts to a group of persons the Brown family works with, perhaps for their show.

His text to them, according to Janelle via the police, was, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”

Apparently, Janelle learned of this message to the group, which doesn’t seem to have included her. She then texted Garrison, according to Janelle, who then informed the police that they had a brief chat for a few minutes before he stopped answering.

When Janelle asked her other children who could go check on Garrison, his sibling Gabriel offered to help. Unfortunately, his brother had already passed away by the time he got to Flagstaff.

The most bizarre aspect comes next: during the police interview, three of Garrison’s roommates during the time he was living with them claimed to have heard a pop on Monday night but failed to believe it to be a gunshot. None of them even followed up with Garrison to find out what had happened.

It appears out that Gabriel didn’t find out his brother was dead and that he was carrying a pistol until he got on the scene on Tuesday. The roommates claim that after he dialed 911, they discovered Garrison had committed suicide.

According to his roommates, Garrison had a history of alcoholism in the family. Gabriel, on the other hand, claimed that he was unaware that there was a problem with his sibling because he had just started a new job at a hospital and appeared to be coping well on his own.

Finally,… Garrison was alienated from his father, Kody, Janelle informed the police. We revealed the truth. Garrison shot himself in the head and passed away on Tuesday. He was twenty-five.
