Mom Shares Video Of Dying 2-year-old Daughter’s Last Moments Singing Her Favorite Song
When we get a newborn, we don’t care about his or her beauty, about the color of their beautiful eyes, or the density of their hair… all we want for them is to be healthy.
To see some parents being stripped away from that right is heart-wrenching and painful to the absolute core.
Magalli Jimenez was blessed with a beautiful daughter Ava Skye. The first year with her daughter was the time of her, but her world fell apart when Ava turned 13 months…
Jimenez took her daughter to a doctor when she noticed her in pain. Her whole breath was taken away from her when the doctor told her Ava had muscle cancer.
The young mother braced herself for a period that would become the hardest part of her life.
She was hopeful that the treatment prescribed by the oncologist would help.
She went through a painful chemo session and all she wanted was to trade places and feel her pain instead.
After the chemo and check-ups, Skye was finally in remission. They were extremely happy to hear that, but it didn’t last long…
In July 2022, Ava’s cancer relapsed and the doctors told her family that the cancer is resistant to treatment and they hope they’ll be able to remove it surgically.
But because of her fragile body, doctors didn’t put much hope that she’d recover…
It broke their spirits in half when they realized they have only few days left with their little one.
She watched as her daughter went from a healthy toddler into one unable to walk or talk.
Jimenez took her to a hospice care to make sure Ava’s final days will be as comfortable as possible.
From time to time she went to the bathroom to cry, but made sure she’ll always act happy with her daughter.
“We will just let her live her life and enjoy her and do all the things that we’ve ever wanted to do with her. We’ve made a bucket list for her,” Jimenez said.
Jimenez’s friend, Davina Galvan, who is also a mother to a child with cancer set up a GoFundMe page for the family to raise $5,000 and fulfil all the things Ava had on the bucket list.
On August 22, 2022, fragile Skye took her last breaths as her mother witnessed it all.
When Skye passed away her mother was heartbroken but also relieved that her little angel was no longer in pain.
Just a day before her death, little Ava could barely stand, but got all her available energy to sing a song to her mother one last time.
She sang her favorite song, singing, “I love you. You love me. We are a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss kiss. [sic] Won’t you say you love me too?”
Her mother took the video of her daughter singing one last time because she wanted to show the world that she had a brave angel with her for a short period of time.
“My heart will forever be broken, it will never be the same, but I promised her that I would live for her. Hug your kiddos a little harder today, even when they drive you insane,” Jimenez said.
Jimenez shared that she would do anything to be able to hug her daughter just one more time.
Our hearts go out to Skye’s family who have to deal with this heart-wrenching loss.
