Woman Thinks She’s Pregnant With Twins, Turns Pale When Doctor Shows Her The Scan

Oksana Kobletskaya, a resident of Odessa, Ukraine, was ecstatic to discover she was expecting.

The 36-year-old woman and her husband, Sergey, were excited to expand their family with the addition of a child.

What they assumed would be a routine pregnancy ended up taking a surprising turn that stunned the world.

Both Oksana and Sergey agreed early on that a small family of two kids would be ideal for them.

The couple realized they couldn’t have any more children because of their financial situation.

Oksana knew she was carrying many children at an early stage of her pregnancy.

Something about the situation seemed off to her.

“No one in our family had ever been pregnant with twins. I was sure I would never experience anything like this”, Oksana tells German news source Heftig.

However, this was just the beginning, as an even bigger surprise lay ahead….

Oksana noticed the doctor frowning at her scan.

And then she got some very astounding news.

“When I saw the shock on the doctor’s face, my heart stopped for a moment,” Oksana recounts, continuing:

“Then I heard him mumble something along the lines of: ‘You deserve to have a big house by the sea…’”

The doctor then elaborated, saying, “I can see five fetuses, maybe six. It’s hard to tell.”

Oksana was actually carrying five babies.

You can probably guess how unusual this is: very. Quintuplets occur in only one in every 47,458,321 births.

The doctor was practically delighted and rushed around the hospital as Oksana was still trying to absorb the news. There has never been anything like it in the hospital’s history.

However, not everyone was happy to see Oksana and Sergey.

“It almost felt like a nightmare, as though I would wake up at any moment,” remembers Oksana.

She and her husband were understandably concerned when they learned they would have to scrap their entire future-planning strategy.

“It takes time to process this kind of news. I mean, how would we manage to take care of so many children,”, says husband Sergey.

Oksana went to the hospital to get ready to give birth in her 30th week.

There were eight doctors waiting for her in the delivery room.

According to Oksana, “They treated me like I was made of porcelain– they were extremely cautious.”

Three boys and two girls were born to Oksana by C-section.

Since this is a high-risk pregnancy, the physicians were ready for the worst.

At the end of it all, though, the doctors confirmed that five premature but otherwise healthy kids had been born.

The newborns, Daria, Alexandra, Denis, Vladislav, and David, shot to fame.

The infants are now three years old.

According to The Mirror, these quintuplets were the first to ever be born in Ukraine.

The opportunity that comes with taking care of such a large family seems exciting for Oksana and Sergey.

People are always stopping what they’re doing to meet and welcome the babies.

The municipality assisted with the family’s relocation to a larger apartment they recently occupied.

Oksana, the mother of the quintuplets, and their gorgeous older sister, regularly post images of their “five treasures” to Instagram.

How adorable are they?

This family may not have gotten the ending they were hoping for, but I have no doubt that they will continue on to enjoy a long and happy life together.
