Woman Gives Her Dog Her Jacket To Keep Him Warm While He Waits Outside
With the weather turning colder, pet safety becomes paramount. It is surprising how many humans fail to recognize that canines feel the effects of cold weather just like us.
Yet there are many who go the extra mile to ensure the safety of animals during storms. A kind stranger noticed a dog owner’s sweet gestures toward her pet and posted pictures of them on Facebook.
A month ago, on a cold and windy day, I found myself in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At the Harvard Square bus station, Kristina Hollie and a coworker waited.
As she waited, she noticed a lady out with her dog. In order to get to the post office quickly, the stranger tethered the dog to a tree.
The dog, though, was plainly trembling in the cold. Consequently, the owner did something incredibly kind by giving the dog her coat.
“She immediately took off her jacket and covered the dog as he sat,” Kristina told The Dodo. “Maybe she thought he would kick it off, so she bent down and zipped it up around him!”
Kristina could not overlook the woman’s thoughtfulness and thanked her for taking care of her dog, saying, “She just replied, ‘Thank you! I don’t want him to be cold!’”
Kristina shared the pictures on the Facebook group Dogspotting, where they quickly gained thousands of likes.
Kristina said the dog was waiting for his owner outside while she boarded the bus, but the canine appeared comfortable and content.
“I saw two or three other people walk past him and comment that he looked very cute and very warm,” she told The Dodo.
We appreciate this woman’s concern for her dog’s well-being and her efforts to keep him warm.
