Weatherman Reveals How To Defrost Your Windshield In Seconds
Winter is coming, and instead of undead skeletons climbing up a wall we have more common problems… like frozen windshield! Did you know you could easily remove the ice off your windshield without scratching at all?! Yeah, me neither, but this video will enlighten you!
If you’re like me, I live in an apartment, and I don’t have a garage to put my car in. Even if you do, you can still find your windshield frozen. An ice scraper works too, but if you don’t want to work the hassle, there’s a trick a weatherman from Knoxville, Tennessee knows that’ll save you a lot of gas and icy fingers!
Ken Weathers (yes, that’s the weatherman’s real name) of WATE 6 shared an amazing formula that will get rid of the frost on your windshield within seconds.
The secret ingredients are simpler than you think: isopropyl, water and rubbing alcohol. The video was posted a long time ago, but every winter it’s going viral for an obvious reason: it works like a magic!
Here’s what you do: Mix ⅓ part water and ⅔ part isopropyl or rubbing alcohol together and pour into a spray bottle. Spray your windshield and ice melts almost instantly.
“The reason why this works is rubbing alcohol has a freezing point of 138 degrees below freezing so you can always keep this mixture in your car and it will never freeze,” Weathers reveals in the video.
Some people got worried that alcohol may “eat” the paint on the car, but Weathers says that only small amounts of alcohol would come in contact with the paint. And if you wash or wax your car when recommended, you shouldn’t have any issues.
And on the record, that scrape could easily damage your car with one wrong stroke, so I’ll keep using this solution!
