When we go shopping, we occasionally feel like we’re being taken advantage of.
This typically occurs when we make an impulsive purchase and get sticker shock at the register, or when costs are greater than we believe they should be.
Although it’s not always the case, it’s usually not because we’ve been taken advantage of.
Grocery stores are a typical location for a scam that is occurring all over the country.
Because women frequently carry their wallet in their purse rather than in their pocket, and because they don’t always keep their purse near at hand, women are primarily the target.
One of the most tempting things for a woman to do when she is in a grocery store or a big-box retailer like Target or Walmart is to put her purse in the cart.
It’s clear as day. nearby is a cart nearby that can easily hold a heavy handbag, so why carry one around?
We know the solution. due to robbers.
To demonstrate how this purse snatching scam operates, Inside Edition went to a grocery store. The thieves often operate in pairs, but other times they operate alone.
A preoccupied customer with a pocketbook in the cart was the one thing that almost all of the scenarios had in common.
They even went so far as to test the fraud out themselves for Inside Edition.
Together, they were able to divert customers and demonstrate how simple it would be to take the woman’s pocketbook from the trolley.
