It’s Been A Rough Few Years For Simon Cowell
There can’t be many more well-known people in the music business than Simon Cowell. Over the years, he amassed a fortune due to his skill and acumen in business.
The likes of One Direction and Kelly Clarkson might not exist today if not for this man and his talent-finding reality programs.
In the 1980s, Simon worked as a music producer, consultant, and scout before becoming widely known as a judge on the American version of Pop Idol in 2001.
Because of the show’s immense popularity, Simon went on to launch two other talent competition series that have since become global sensations: The X Factor and Got Talent.
Twice, in 2004 and again in 2010, he was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
The business tycoon went through a lot in the past several years. Tragically, he was in two separate incidents. First, he hurt his back riding an electric scooter, and then he went down the stairs.
The singer and producer had to have back surgery after a scary incident, and he has since warned people about the perils of riding an electric bike. “The one I had was basically a motorcycle with an electric engine when you have to wear a proper crash helmet, leathers. This thing was nuts,” he said. “I didn’t know how powerful it was before I got on it. And I fly 6-8 feet in the air and landed on my spine.”
In his own time, this extraordinary multitalented man is an avid supporter of various charities and a committed animal advocate.
Simon’s long-term girlfriend and the mother of his kid, Lauren Silverman, and he have been a couple since 2013.
Because Lauren was still married to Andrew Silverman, who also happened to be one of Simon’s closest friends, the revelation of their relationship made quite a stir when it became public.
“Meeting Lauren and becoming a dad was the most fantastic thing to happen in my life,” Cowell told Hello Magazine.
“It’s hard when you have kids at my age but it’s amazing. When you work as hard as I do, you think, ‘What’s it all going to be for at the end?’ Then somebody like him comes along and it’s all worthwhile.”
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Simon has made $600 million because to his performances and commercial acumen.
Unfortunately, Eric does not appear to be in line to receive his father’s wealth. Perhaps you’re wondering why. So, yeah, Simon thinks his kid to strike it rich on his own.

“I’m going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably — kids and dogs. I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another,” Simon told The Mirror and added, “Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know.”
Simon and Eric get along great and spend a lot of time together because of this. The elated dad says they share a passion for Scooby Doo and Disney flicks.
”He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him,” America’s Got Talent judge said.
Simon’s dad, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who passed away in 1999, inspired the name Eric.
As a result of his efforts, Simon Cowell now controls a massive business.
