Italian Gymnast Alexandra Wins Hearts With Her Performance On The Rhythmic Gymnastics
Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese born on January 15, 2001 in Iași, Romania is a rhythmic gymnast who currently represents Italy.
She is a four-time medalist at the 2016 European Junior Championships. At the national level, she is a two-time (2017, 2018) Italian National All-around silver medalist and a three-time (2012, 2013, 2015) Italian Junior National champion, and a bronze medalist with the ball at the 2018 World Championships.
For those of you that don’t know, Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which individuals or groups of five manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and freehand.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and handling of apparatus.
The victor is the participant who earns the most points, determined by a panel of judges, for leaps, balances, pirouettes (pivots), apparatus handling, and execution.
The choreography must cover the entire floor and contain a balance of jumps, leaps, pivots, balances and flexibility movements. Each movement involves a high degree of athletic skill.
Physical abilities needed by a rhythmic gymnast include strength, power, flexibility, agility, dexterity, endurance and hand-eye coordination.
Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese Ball Performance
I am personally not a fan of these particular sports, and I usually switch the channel when I stumble upon one, but this video stopped me.
Her entire performance was so perfectly in sync that I was in awe.
Even if the judges gave her a bronze medal for this stunning performance, this girl won the gold medal for me.
Just take a look at this amazing performance bellow:
