Isabella Strahan In Tears As She Gives Unexpected Update On Cancer Battle

This week, Isabella Strahan used social media to provide an unexpected update on her fight against cancer.

The 19-year-old daughter of former NFL player Michael Strahan broke down in “happy tears” as she revealed that she would only need to undergo four chemotherapy sessions as opposed to the initial six.

Isabella revealed her news during an interview that appeared on Good Morning America in January 2024 that she had been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignancy near the base of her brain, last year.

“I’m feeling good.” At the time, Isabella responded, “Not too bad,”

After having headaches for a month during her freshman year of college at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Isabella was given a medulloblastoma diagnosis in October 2023.

In the GMA interview, she added, “I didn’t notice anything was off till probably like Oct. 1. That’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn’t walk straight.”

She initially put the blame on vertigo, but when she started throwing up blood when she woke up one day in late October, she realised something was really wrong.

“I was like, ‘Hm, this probably isn’t good.’ So I texted [my sister], who then notified the whole family.”

Since receiving her diagnosis, Isabella has faced many challenges in her journey to recovery. However, the adolescent gave a favourable update in her most recent YouTube video, stating that she will only need to undergo four chemotherapy rounds as opposed to six.

In the video from April 10, she stated, “These are happy tears. It’s not even considering crying when it’s happy tears.”

Isabella is currently halfway through her chemotherapy, having completed her second round in March.

“I’ll be done in May. And I can kind of try and have a summer to feel better,” she added. “And I’m so happy cause I thought I’d be done at the end of July. I was supposed to do six rounds in total. And then I really would just have to go straight back to school. I’m so happy.”

Her well-known father Michael declared in January, “I literally think that in a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world because I’ve got an amazing daughter.”

“I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.”

UPDATE ON HER CONDITION

Isabella Strahan is sharing another heartbreaking report after being overjoyed earlier this week when she heard she would be getting chemotherapy.

In her newest YouTube video, Strahan said she was back in the hospital for a third surgery on her brain that she didn’t plan. She is still fighting cancer.

“There’s ups and downs to this…. I’m in a down right now,” she admitted.

As she said, her fever rose to over 100.4; when that happens, she needs to get medical help.

“I started hysterically crying because I needed to get an IV and I haven’t had an IV in so long. They’re giving me fluids right now and antibiotics.” Isabella then went in for another procedure.

“So they did a little procedure. I’ve had this one before. They stuck a needle in three spots and drain fluid and I was completely awake for this. My first completely awake surgery.”

She has to wait longer for her chemotherapy because of this delay.
