You know how some people advocate for animal rights. Then there are some people who are against eating meat, be it whatever kind of meat because they think it is immoral to slaughter an animal to fulfill our stomachs.
They are called vegetarians- a person who does not eat meat or fish, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious, or health reasons,
and vegans – a person who does not eat or use animal products.
Now, there are meat-eaters as well and there are those who eat meat, but they do not like the idea of an animal being killed in order for them to do so. This video is perfect for such kind – however, it is a wake-up call for everyone!
So, it is a video from a lecture in some class. This teachers starts off very amazingly by building the idea of tradition and how it becomes the part of a culture. You will realise all the traditions that you have learned growing up – it might be a walk down the memory lane. Then, he comes to the point: not all traditions are morally acceptable. It is where your belief system might shake! And it should. It is exactly what he is trying to do – trying to challenge our traditions which seem immoral.
Many of us might not agree with him. Many of us might have our own reasons for denying his notion that if we would save an animal being hurt, why would we consume the meat which is eventually hurting the same animal? Whatever side we choose, that is simply how we have been re-programmed since our childhood. Animals are all equal, there is no denying that. We are compassionate towards them, there is no denying that either. Who we show are compassion to is what defines us.
He has a very strong logic behind his argument and he builds it brilliantly. You wouldn’t know until you have heard his side of the story! In the end, you are the one making a choice for yourself!
