Gary Sinise Mourning Sudden Death Of His Beloved Son Mac

Gary Sinise and his family are sad because their 33-year-old son, McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, died.

Gary Sinise, 68, broke the sad news of Mac’s death on the Gary Sinise Foundation’s website and on his Instagram page. He said that Mac had died on January…

Gary said in a touching speech that Mac had been fighting Chordoma, a rare form of cancer, since August 8, 2018. Gary’s wife, Moira Harris, was also told she had stage three breast cancer a few months before this terrible news.

Moira completed treatment and went into remission, but Mac’s situation got worse over time, making him weaker and less able to move around.

Even though Mac had health problems, he was strong and kept doing what he loved, which was singing. As an assistant manager of education and marketing for the Gary Sinise Foundation, Mac also played drums with his father in the Lt. Dan Band, showing off his skill.

Mac loved music so much that he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in singing and composition. Mac was paralyzed from the chest down after five surgeries on his spine between 2018 and 2020, but that didn’t stop him from being creative. He finished working on the album “Resurrection & Revival” right before he died.

Gary wrote about how deeply sad it is to lose a child: “Like any family experiencing such a loss, we are heartbroken and have been managing as best we can. As parents, it is so difficult losing a child. My heart goes out to all who have suffered a similar loss, and to anyone who has lost a loved one. We’ve all experienced it in some way. Over the years I have met so many families of our fallen heroes. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s just damn hard.”

He went on to say, “Our family’s cancer fight lasted for 5 ½ years, and it became more and more challenging as time went on. While our hearts ache at missing him, we are comforted in knowing that Mac is no longer struggling, and inspired and moved by how he managed it. He fought an uphill battle against a cancer that has no cure, but he never quit trying.”

People in Mac’s family, like his parents, sisters, cousins, nephews, and other relatives, carry on his memory. Gary wants to celebrate Mac’s memory by putting out a vinyl version of his album “Mac Sinise: Resurrection and Revival.”

Even though Gary has lost his son very suddenly, his words show how much he loves and respects him. His memory will continue to inspire and boost everyone who knew him.
