Everyone Is Agreeing The Same Thing After Lady Gaga’s Oscars Performance Without Makeup

In any case, it’s safe to say that the Oscars have given us more than their share of iconic moments. When so many A-listers and powerful people congregate in L.A. for a single event, fireworks are practically certain.

Still, anticipating what will occur is half the fun. As an example, consider Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock from a year ago, which was broadcast throughout the globe. Or how about the time Moonlight won the Best Picture Oscar and the producers of La La Land didn’t find out until they were already halfway through their victory speech?

In some ways, it’s relieving to report that no such calamity occurred this year, yet in other ways it’s disheartening (at least not on that scale). Yet there were a few incidents that caused a lot of consternation at home.

Lady Gaga, of pop music fame, is one such artist; her song “Hold My Hand,” from the film Top Gun: Maverick, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

The 36-year-old, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre for the Oscars in a Versace gown, accessorizing with dramatic red lipstick and smoky eyeliner.

But the audience at home noticed the Born This Way singer’s wardrobe shift.

Before singing “Hold My Hand,” Gaga delivered an emotional monologue in which she said:

“It has a special meaning for me. I believe that we all require one another. To navigate this world, we require a lot of love. Everybody needs a hero once in a while, and they may be found anywhere in ordinary places. But even if you feel damaged within, you can discover that you can be your own hero.”

Without her usual face paint, Lady Gaga gave an emotional rendition of her song. Similarly, she secretly changed out of the Versace dress mentioned before and into a black T-shirt, ripped pants, and Converse.

There was a lot that fans wanted to say, and they did.

Gaga was nominated for four Academy Awards, winning for Best Original Song (2016 and 2019) and Best Actress (2019) with her song “Shallow” (2019).

Reacting to Lady’s performance, one of her fans commented, “Performance of the night. She started low then picked it up to the original production style. Took us home with the belt! One thing you can never take away from Gaga? is her MUSICAL DISCIPLINE. The woman will hide for 40 days and 40 nights and master any instrument.” Another fan wrote, “Wonderful, in addition to singing extremely well, she cosplayed Ellie, from The Last of Us.” Other fan commented, “You are just beautiful when you are natural.” “Brilliant .loved it stripped back amazing voice xx”, added one. “OMG i got chillss as soon as the song started”, wrote other.

She went home empty-handed because she didn’t win any Oscars. This year, the Best Original Song award went to “Naatu Naatu,” from the film RRR.
