Catherine Zeta-Jones was born and reared in Wales, England, which may come as a surprise to many of her moviegoers.
She discovered at a young age that being praised made her feel good, therefore she decided to pursue a career in dance.
Catherine’s mother recognized her daughter’s beauty at birth, but the reverse was true for Catherine.
Zeta-Jones has said numerous times that her mother gave her the confidence she has now by telling her to “make the best of [her]self” when she was a young girl and did not feel beautiful.
When she was younger, she couldn’t fathom why women would subject themselves to such harsh scrutiny by competing in beauty pageants, but as she became older, she came to admire their courage in doing so.
She, too, had an early start to her professional life. She dropped out of school in Wales when she was 15 and relocated to London to pursue an acting career. Her first major job came just two years later.
She was cast in a leading part in the London West End version of the musical “42nd Street.”
Due to the absence of both the star and the standby, she was able to seize the spotlight.
Her career took off from there, and she eventually settled in Hollywood.
She found her soul mate, Michael Douglas, in the Hollywood film industry. But it wasn’t love at first sight when they finally met.
At first, she avoided Douglas at all costs. But Zeta-Jones’s fascination got to Douglas, and he had his publicist set up a meeting between the two of them. They decided to have a drink together.
Douglas, after sharing a few drinks with Zeta-Jones, declared his intention to become the father of her future children.
Not amused, she told him, ,“You know I’ve heard a lot about you, and I’ve seen a lot about you, and I think it’s time that I say ‘Goodnight.’”
Douglas was worried that he had ruined his opportunity with the stunning actress, so the next day he sent her a bouquet of flowers to say sorry.
Despite the age gap and the demands of their careers, the pair was able to make their relationship work thanks to his sincere apology.
Douglas kept his promise to Zeta-Jones and had children with her.
Their son was born in 2000, the same year they tied the knot. They had planned for their wedding to end by nightfall, but the celebration ended up going all the way until six in the morning.
They had Carys, their first child, three years later. Finally, their nuclear family was whole.
The couple is in agreement on one point: they never intended to bring up their kids amid the spotlight of Hollywood.
They uprooted their family and spent the next decade and a half in Bermuda.
They may have been inspired to return to Bermuda because Douglas’ mother is from there.
Zeta-Jones does not try to hide the fact that she is 53 years old. She embraces her wrinkles and laugh lines, not caring to turn back the clock.
She said, “I have my insecurities like every other woman, but as I’ve got older, I’ve got much more confident about the way I look.”
The actress’s self-assurance in her appearance has grown with the years.
She doesn’t care if people make rude comments about her appearance, but she also doesn’t let them bully or otherwise take advantage of her.
She has stated that she is happy with her life since “my dreams have come true, and everything else now is a bonus for me.”
Her Instagram posts regularly attract cruel remarks about her age and appearance, but she ignores them.
The actor feels comfortable being herself in front of the camera and also makes time to exercise.
She has admitted to using a variety of fitness tools, including the ballet barre, hula hoop, treadmill, and elliptical machine, to work all of her muscle groups.
She has a sweet tooth, though, and her favorite chocolate is Cadbury’s English variety. While healthy eating is a top priority for her, she does allow herself the occasional sweet treat.
The Hollywood celebrity proved once again in February 2023 that she is grounded.
When she visited London, she boarded the subway without a second thought. When visiting the British city, Zeta-Jones surprised everyone by using the train instead of taking a taxi or hiring a personal driver.

She avoided going at rush hour and covered up a little bit since, as far as I can tell, all she wanted was to blend in with the crowd.
