BREAKING UPDATE In Charlotte Sena, 9, Who Disappeared During Family Camping Trip At NY State Park

Charlotte Sena, 9, has been missing since she and her family visited a New York state park on Saturday evening, and the hunt for her has been intensified with the support of the public.

About 45 miles north of Albany, near Gansevoort, New York’s Moreau Lake State Park is where Charlotte was last seen on her bicycle at 6:15 p.m. She had set out for a bike ride with her pals, but ultimately decided to go out on her own for one more circuit.

After her mother discovered her bike down the trail at 6:45 p.m., she reported her missing.

At 7 o’clock, state police arrived and immediately began searching the entire 6,200-acre park.

An Amber Alert was issued early Sunday morning.

“Following our exhaustive search of the park we took that step of issuing the Amber Alert because we felt that that exhaustive search, when we couldn’t find her here, it was quite possible that an abduction had taken place,” said Lt. Colonel Richard Mazzone of the Uniform Force of the State Police.

“The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death,” the alert read.

Charlotte Sena, 9, was reported missing on September 30, 2023 at 6:45 p.m. by the @nyspolice from Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort, New York, specifically from Loop A, Site 18.

Charlotte’s family, meanwhile, is pleading with the general public for any leads.

“No tip is insignificant, so if anyone has any information at all …,” Jené Sena, Charlotte’s aunt, said. “She is a blonde, adorable 9-year-old little girl with bangs. She has green eyes, just under 5 feet tall and she is just a sweet, adorable girl.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul remarked at a press conference on Sunday, “We are leaving no stone, no branch, no table, no cabin unturned, untouched, and unexamined in our search to find Charlotte.”

Search efforts for the missing nine-year-old currently involve more than a hundred persons, including residents, police, and forest rangers. Bloodhounds, drones, and boats are all being used in the search of the state park.

The park will not reopen any time soon.

It’s “critical time” to continue looking for Charlotte Sena.

“This is a critical time. The statistics tell us in possible abductions, which this well may be, that first 24 to 48 hours is critical,” CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller said on CNN This Morning. “Once they found her bike during that search, they realized she’s not on it, she hasn’t gone too far, she didn’t get lost. Something’s really wrong.”

About 10 miles from where she disappeared, Charlotte grew up. She was last seen wearing a tie-dye Pokemon t-shirt, dark blue leggings, a gray helmet, and black Crocs.

BREAKING UPDATE IN THE SEARCH

The search for the 9-year-old girl who disappeared from a campground while cycling has reached a new climax.

The latest information from local law enforcement states, “Charlotte Sena has been located and in good health.” Police have maintained that they have a suspect in custody but have provided no further details.

Sena was last seen on Saturday evening, missing from the tent she and her parents had rented at Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga, New York.

An Amber Alert was issued roughly half an hour after she was last seen.

To the best of the police department’s knowledge, Sena had been kidnapped and was in “imminent danger of serious harm and/or death.” Jene, Charlotte’s aunt, told NBC News that until the girl was located, it seemed as if Charlotte had “disappeared almost into thin air.”

“I mean it was, minutes, minutes between when she was last seen and when she wasn’t there anymore.”
