Al Roker Has Health Setback After Leaving Hospital on Thanksgiving Day
When Al Roker left the hospital and was finally able to spend some time with his family on Thanksgiving, it’s been reported that he’s again admitted in the hospital on December 1st.
According to his friend and anchor Hoda Kotb, Roker was again submitted to the hospital for his own safety after a serious setback. While she didn’t go into detail as to what happened, she reassured that Roker is optimistic and working mentally as well as physically to get back on set.
Al Roker shared videos and pictures from the hospital as he works on recovery.
The story comes with a positive twist! He is going to leave the hospital after a couple of days with the care of medical professionals for blood clots that went from his legs into his lungs.
Al Roker Shares Thanksgiving Day Update As His Today Show Co-Anchors Carry On the Parade Without Him
“Alright, this is my version of the Thanksgiving Day parade. Getting ready to leave the hospital, time to blow this taco stand! Woohoo!” Roker shared in a video with a positive attitude while walking the halls of the hospital.
“Yay Al!!!! Love love this video!!! Parade was not the same without YOU!!!” Hoda Kotb sent her positive energy in the comments: “Yasss!! Now we are especially thankful for you too!!! And all those doctors and nurses who took care of our dear one!” Jenna Bush Hager said.
Roker shared another picture of him on social media showing his thumbs up in front of the TV. The picture portrays him proud and very happy with a wide smile that his co-workers carry on the work without him in the spotlight: “Back home in time to catch a little bit of the #macysthanksgivingdayparade Missing being next to @savannahguthrie and @hodakotb.”
We are safe to say that we miss his positive aura on TV. This is the first time in 27 years for Al to miss co-anchoring the parade.
Many questioned his absence from Today Show cast and now we finally know why.
On Friday, Al exposed his recent health scare that landed him in the hospital, alongside a picture of a bouquet of flowers.
“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” Roker shared. “Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs.”
“After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”
However, Roker didn’t say when he’s going to bless us with his presence again on the Today Show. Many showed great support to their friend Al wishing him a speedy recovery.
His beloved friend Hoda Kotb wrote: “Al Roker– hurry back to us… counting the days xoxoxo.” And Jenna Bush Hager added, “Love you Al! Hurry home. You are missed and loved beyond measure!”
Craig Melvin wrote, “Love you brother…can’t wait to have you back!” And Dylan Dryer said, “Love you Al and praying every day for a speedy recovery!”
Savannah Guthrie, an American broadcast journalist, attorney. and a main co-anchor of the NBC News, morning show said, “You’re the strongest person we know. We miss you and will see you soon!!”
“He’s in good spirits, we’ve all talked to him,” Guthrie said on Friday’s show. “He’s in great spirits,” Kotb further noted.
