Sabrina Carpenter’s Met Gala Dress Sparks Viral Reaction — Here’s What Everyone’s Noticing

The most recent fashion statement from the Met Gala red carpet is Sabrina Carpenter’s ensemble.

The ‘Please Please Please’ singer is no new to stirring up controversy; just look at the alleged ‘Juno’ poses she has taken throughout her most recent international tour, Short n’ Sweet.

Carpenter is the most recent to dazzle the red carpet at the Met Gala, sporting an ensemble that respects this year’s dress code while paying homage to the song that made her famous.

In an effort to raise money for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, New York, many of Hollywood’s most well-known faces are already walking the red carpet on this year’s largest fashion night.

The concept of this year’s topic is ‘Black dandyism,’ which corresponds with the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ exhibition at the Costume Institute, which runs from May 10 to October 26.

The dress code encourages participants to make it “Tailored for You,” emphasising a range of menswear and tailored suit designs with plenty of leeway for personal interpretation.

The ‘Espresso’ hitmaker seems to have done just that, choosing an espresso-colored leotard, a fitted espresso-colored jacket, and ties that are, you guessed it, espresso in colour with a hint of white around the collar.

Many people rushed to social media to express how much they liked her appearance.

“She is so Espresso! Heck yes!” said one on Twitter, as a second added, “Espresso suit I LOVE. Sabrina Carpenter the woman you are.”

“Looking like a freshly brewed cup of espresso!” read a different comment.

“She GOT THE ASSIGNMENT!!!!” wrote another ecstatic fan.

While many said the outfit was “on brand” for her, hundreds more wanted something more from the celebrity.

“Cute,” one said. “Just wish she would do something different to her hair.”

“It’s cute kinda expected more but she definitely serving espresso,” another participant said, and a third commented, “This would have looked so good with a different bottom silhouette like a dramatic skirt of pant.”

“I think it’s cute and I love my girl but she played it very safe and that’s so not what the met is for!!!” Another entered.

Sydney Sweeney’s all-black ballroom-inspired ensemble and Simone Biles’ short blue dress are also attracting attention tonight, so it’s not only Carpenter’s fit.
