Taylor Swift Leaves People Divided After She Generously Tipped Personnel At A Grammys Afterparty
Following the global success of a video showing Taylor Swift generously tipping personnel at a Grammys afterparty, social media users were left divided.
Despite receiving six nominations at the star-studded event, the singer failed to win any of the awards for which she was nominated.
Taylor may have gone home empty-handed, but the same cannot be said for the four employees who were on the event door.
A widely shared video shows Taylor and her security team exiting what looks to be the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, then turning around to give cash notes to multiple employees.
Before giving them the cash, she can be heard saying, “Thank you so much for all your hard work,” as she passes by.
As she quickly exits the premises with her security team, a staff member says, “We appreciate you so much.”
Although the artist is renowned for being extremely kind when it comes to tipping event staff, opinions on the gesture have been split.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Taylor Swift’s always spreading the love! That’s so thoughtful of her.”
Another responded, “Say what you want about her music, or her fanbase, but she genuinely is a nice person.”
Three people, however, expressed skepticism, writing: “It’s so lucky that a camera was there to catch that, surely it wasn’t planned at all.”
“Thank goodness there was a camera at the ready,” added a fourth.
But there was another response: “See if you’re Taylor Swift there’s cameras gonna be on you 24/7 in public spaces surely that’s quite simple to understand.”
The 35-year-old singer of “Karma” was among the numerous celebrities present at the Super Bowl last weekend. During the game, she was shown on the jumbotron and was met with a chorus of jeers.
It was a really awkward moment, and Taylor seemed perplexed by it as she responded with a five-word statement while on the big screen.
According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, Taylor asked Ice Spice, who was seated next to her, “Wait…what is going on?” Then the stands began to jeer.
Boyfriend Travis Kelce seemingly wasn’t too happy either with the jeering towards his girlfriend, as a source close to him reportedly told MailOnline, “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him.”
“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”
