Ozzy Osbourne Makes A Shocking Health Update – And Fans Are Worried
Ozzy Osbourne made news earlier this year when he announced the cancellation of his live comeback tour, months after announcing his retirement from touring due to severe health difficulties.
The 74-year-old heavy metal rocker and lead singer for Black Sabbath has endured a series of health problems in recent years.
The Crazy Train singer has a long record of health problems, including a major spine injury he sustained in an ATV accident in 2003, which led to many fractured bones.
Ozzy also suffered a catastrophic fall in 2019, which he stated “screwed up all the vertebrae” in his neck in a Twitter statement.
In July, Ozzy’s health problems prompted him to cancel his appearance at the Power Trip festival in California.
The event was scheduled for October and would have featured a wide variety of great groups, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Tool, and Iron Maiden.
Fans are understandably concerned after hearing the latest health report from the renowned Brit on a recent episode of The Osbournes Podcast.
Ozzy revealed that he needs yet another operation—his fourth since his 2019 fall—during the show that aired on Tuesday, September 12th.
Sharon Osbourne, his wife and manager, son Jack Osbourne, and daughter Kelly Osbourne, who all appeared in the first season of The Osbournes, joined him on the podcast.
In his own words, Ozzy said, “My lower back is, I’m going for an epidural soon because what’s happening, what they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed, below the neck there’s two vertebrae where the bike hit me and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of ’em.”
Ozzy has only played two live shows since his last tour in 2018. Since 2019, multiple tours have been postponed due to illness, the most recent being the Power Trip Festival.
Ozzy is scheduled for yet another operation, but he says, “I don’t know what the doctors are doing.”

In response to his son Jack’s inquiry as to whether or not they were fusing his discs, Ozzy said, “All I know is right now I’m in a lot of pain, in a lot of discomfort.”
