They “Dug” Into Her Past Until They Found Something Unusual For The Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have met six years ago, but it turns out they are actually related.
Prince Harry has said he stepped back from the royal family two years ago because the British press was “destroying” his mental health.
Leaving Britain and settling in the States wasn’t the end of the raging news about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry whose names always end up in the headlines of many magazines and tabloids.
The couple got married back in 2018 and their life, like any royal life, was closely followed by the tabloids and the world in general. Today they have two children together, son Archie, and daughter Lilibet Diana, named after both her famous and controversial grandma and great-grandma.
The media dig out some interesting information about the “former” royal couple. It turned out that the royal and his Californian-born better half are already related…. before they met!
According to Metro, the two are fifteenth cousins and their family tree dates back to 1480.
The couple have a common ancestor named Ralph Bowes, a High Sheriff of County Durham in England in the 15th century.
The Sheriff’s granddaughter Bridget, married a man named John Hussey and their grandson Christopher Hussey moved to the US in 1632. Christopher was an ancestor of Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, a renowned television lighting director and director of photography.
However, Ralph Bowes had another grandchild, George Bowes.
He was a relative of Elizabeth Bowes Lyon who married George VI and went on to become the Queen Mother, the mother of Queen Elizabeth.
Although they appear to be very distant cousins, this doesn’t affect the relationship in any way. As a fact, if someone dug out as far as they did for the Royal Family, you might have someone in common with your wife/husband…
