Teacher Asks Students To Be Bridesmaids And Groomsmen, But Wait Till You See Their Reaction
Choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen can be stressful when planning a wedding, but one woman had the right way to make the choice.
Alex Stamps, a fifth-grade teacher, didn’t think twice about asking her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her big day.
A science and Technology Elementary School teacher from Wichita, Kansas, married her fiancé, Mason McDowell, in July. They had been dating for almost a year.
Mason, a third-grade teacher, also wanted his children to be a part of their big day.
The couple not only asked their students to be their girls and groomsmen, but they also invited them to their wedding.
“I love them, and they’re part of my life.” Alex told the Wichita Eagle, “I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans.”
Alex filmed the moment she asked her kids and posted it on TikTok. It went viral right away and now has over 19 million views.
At the start of the movie, Alexandra says, “I’m going to ask my students to be in my wedding.”

The video then shows her in her classroom, telling her children, “Okay, so I have a really important question to ask you guys.
“Khloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, Harley – will you guys be my junior bridesmaids in my wedding?” she asks, to which the girls respond, “Yes!”
Bryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian—will you guys be my junior groomsmen?” She then asks, and the boys answer right away, “Yes!”

Alexandra said that almost all of their kids broke down in tears when they were asked.
They spend more than forty hours a week with their students, and Alexandra and her husband love them so much. That’s why they asked their students.
“And so I thought it would be kind of fun to include them in the festivities instead of just having them in the audience.
“I just want to give them this special part of my life. I want them to be part of it because I’m so proud of the hard work that they’ve done this year, and the fact that they’ve not only survived the pandemic — but thrived in it — and watching them grow as people this school year, they deserve to be up there with me.”

Alexandra said she talked to the parents of the students first to make sure it was okay for them to participate.
She then gave the girls fake pearl necklaces and the boys bright sunglasses.
The kids all got rainbow-striped lollipops after she asked them to marry her.
How exciting must have been for this group of kids! What a great way to honor her students.
