Shirley Temple’s Children Share Their Memories Of Their Beloved Mother, The Legendary Child Actress And Hollywood Icon

Shirley Temple’s adorable features and ringlets ensured that she would always be remembered as a child star. She had success in the cinema industry, starring in several box office smashes and garnering several acting accolades.

Do you know that she is also a businesswoman, a diplomat, and a mother of three? The tragic death of the Hollywood legend at age 85 from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease occurred in 2014.

When she died away in her California home, she was surrounded by her loving family and the many people she had touched over her lifetime. On the occasion of what would have been her 90th birthday, many of her admirers came this year to pay respect to her.

Her offspring have finally shed light on this Hollywood icon’s parenting style.

Among her many accomplishments, Shirley Temple Black was an American actress, singer, dancer, businesswoman, and diplomat.

She performed in numerous films between 1935 and 1938, including Curly Top and Heidi, and was widely considered the best child actress of her day.

She started her career at the tender age of three. During her teenage years, her star began to decline, and at age 22 she quit from performing, only to come back eight years later.

Shirley served as U.S. ambassador to both Ghana and the Czechoslovak Republic, and she was also a social activist. She also held the position of U.S. Chief of Protocol.

She married twice and welcomed three children into the world: Lori Black, Linda Susan Agar, and Charles Alden Black Jr. Her daughter from her second marriage, Lori Black, became a heroin addict in the late 1980s.

The bass player for the bands Clown Alley and the Melvins was a man named Lori, was also known as Lorax. She was sentenced to two years of probation, 120 hours of community service, and a fine after pleading guilty to narcotics possession at the age of 39. Lori was also had to go through drug counseling.

Her mother, Shirley, played a vital role in her recovery from addiction by forcing the entire family to go to therapy sessions with her.

Shirley’s loved ones and admirers threw a party in 2018 to honor her anticipated 90th birthday.

Charles Black, her son, grew up with the celebrity and reflects on his time with his mother: “The only time I noticed her star quality was when someone else would ask for her autograph. She was an amazing person. She was wonderful — and normal. We had dinner at the table every night all together.”

Shirley’s daughter, Linda Susan Agar, also said: “She was devoted and generous, and she could be a little stern if we didn’t behave. But she was also a lot of fun. Very inventive and imaginative. She was all about her children and her husband.”

Susan claims that her mom is one-of-a-kind.

“We had a lot of fun decorating the dining room. Being a wife and mom is the greatest of her achievements. We were shopping and travel buddies. We went many places together. She was one of my very best friends…”

Wow, she’s an incredible woman who managed to be both successful and a caring mother.
