Shiloh Jolie Drops ‘Pitt’ From Surname, Debuts As ‘Shi Joli’ At LA Fashion Event

In what appears to be an effort to break with her father, the adolescent daughter of Angelia Jolie and Brad Pitt has revealed a new name.

Last week, Shiloh Jolie, 19, made an uncommon appearance at an event held at the renowned Oliver House in Los Angeles, where she choreographed a dance.

The kid gave a remarkable performance at the exclusive event, which was attended by some of Hollywood’s VIPs, including fashion stars, actors, and models, to celebrate Isabel Marant’s new capsule collection with Net-A-Porter.

Singer-songwriter Luella’s live performance of her new track ‘Naïve’ featured a stunning dance routine choreographed by Shiloh, who was there as a guest and for talent. The dancers were Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki.

On May 27, 2006, “Brangelina,” who broke up in 2016 and fought a contentious divorce until 2024, brought Shiloh Nouvel Jolie Pitt into the world.

Together, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith actors, who first connected on the set of the 2004 film, have six children: the twins, Knox and Vivienne, and their three biological children, Shiloh.

Prior to adopting Pax and giving birth to the twins, the former couple had adopted siblings Maddox and Zahara, and Shiloh is their first biological child.

Though it’s unclear if this will be her stage name, the child has announced that she is now going by the name Shi in what seems to be a slight to her father.

After growing somewhat alienated from Pitt, the star filed to remove her father’s last name from her own on her 18th birthday, according to TMZ at the time.

Since 2014, the couple has not been spotted together in public, according to Hello Magazine.

Jolie accused Pitt of domestic abuse against her former husband in recent years, and their protracted divorce fight was anything but peaceful.

Pitt has consistently rejected the charges, which are thought to have caused him to become distant from their kids.

According to reports, the 61-year-old actor was ‘aware’ of Shiloh’s submission, as a source told PEOPLE: “He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter.”

“The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”

Another source also told the publication that the Bullet Train star ‘still loves all of his kids tremendously’, adding, “This whole process has been very hard for the whole family.”

But Shiloh’s lawyer blasted any implication that the teenager changed her name as a public declaration.

Peter Levine said, as per PEOPLE, “Shiloh Jolie did not take out an ‘ad’ announcing any name change, and any press reporting that is inaccurate.”

“As Shiloh’s attorney, I am required to publish a legal notice because the law in California requires that of anyone who wants to change their name. That legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times, as is required.”

The announcement coincides with Vivienne, Pitt and Jolie’s daughter, appearing to have dropped Pitt from her name as well.

According to PEOPLE, the 16-year-old assisted her mother in producing the recently released musical, The Outsiders. The playbill identified the daughter of the former marriage as Vivienne Jolie.

In a November 2023 video posted by Essence, Zahara, the eldest daughter of the Hollywood idols, also identified herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
