Save Big on Cruises? Insider Secret Revealed by a Cruise Ship Worker

Cruises can be overpriced vacations for some people, but in some cases, you can really save a lot of money..

A recent revelation made by a musician who has worked on cruise ships has brought to light a system that can really make you save a lot of money.

As was also confirmed by Cruise with Leo, the system is usually called “Buddy Pass,” and has been making waves among travel enthusiasts and budget travelers.

The story of the Buddy Pass came to light when Bryan James, a musician working on Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas, shared his insider knowledge in a video that quickly went viral.

Bryan said that cruise workers have different types of perks, but one of the greatest benefits of working on a cruise ship is the ability to invite friends or family aboard at a dramatically reduced rate.

According to his experience, you can bring a guest for $10 per day if they share the cabin with you, or $40 per day if they stay in a private cabin.

The policy is implemented by several cruise lines but you have to make a prior request.

The cruise line will check the availability of the Buddy Pass, the room availability, and the crew member’s agreement. It’s a benefit that varies across different cruise lines and it can also depend on the crew member’s role and privileges.

But still, the primary requirement is knowing someone who works on the ship. This insider connection is essential for accessing the Buddy Pass.

In his YouTube video, Bryan James showed how he invited his mother to join him on the cruise, allowing her to enjoy all the amenities and experiences typically reserved for paying passengers for just a few dollars a day.

The musician was alone in the room so his mother was able to sleep in the second bed of his cabin.

According to her story, the woman then had access to all the attractions and services for which passengers generally pay thousands and thousands of dollars.

There’s one main problem if you want to consider the Buddy Pass. You must have a personal connection with a crew member, which may not be feasible for everyone.

In addition, not all cruise lines offer it, and availability can be limited based on booking status and crew policies. For those that offer it, terms and conditions can change, so it’s essential to research and confirm details before planning the trip.

Most definitely, for those lucky enough to have a friend or family member working on a cruise ship, the Buddy Pass is a golden ticket to a very affordable and unforgettable vacation.
