Sandra Bullock’s Heart-Wrenching Final Hours With Late Partner Revealed
Sandra Bullock’s sister has opened up about the last time the actress saw her longtime partner Bryan Randall alive.
The ‘Oceans 8’ star’s 57-year-old spouse died of ALS, a disease he hid from the public eye for years.
His family released a statement expressing their sorrow, reading in part, “With deep sadness, we announce that Bryan Randall peacefully departed on August 5th, concluding a valiant 3-year battle against ALS.”
Following this, the family said, “Bryan made the deliberate choice to keep his fight with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him diligently respected his wish.”
The statement went on: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the unwavering medical professionals who guided us through the complexities of this ailment, and to the exceptional nurses who became an integral part of our lives, often putting their own families aside to stand by ours. During this period, we kindly ask for privacy as we mourn and attempt to come to grips with the painful reality of bidding farewell to Bryan.”
Gesine Bullock-Prado, Bullock’s sister, paid tribute to the talented model-turned-photographer on Instagram, providing intimate details about the couple’s final hours together.
“I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,” Gesine wrote alongside a cheerful photo of Randall on Monday (August 7).
She also shared the news that Bullock was at his side until he passed away on Saturday (August 5).
“ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home,” Gesine continued. “Rest peacefully, Bryan.”
On Monday, Randall’s family acknowledged his death and said that he had been fighting the disease, which kills nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, in silence for some time.
Bullock, 59, and Randall, a photographer, met paths in January 2015 during her son Louis’ birthday party. The couple started dating in the following months, and before the end of the year, they were making their debut on the red carpet.
The ‘A Time to Kill’ star is very discreet about her personal life, but in December 2021 she admitted on ‘Red Table Talk’ that Randall was the “love of [her] life.”
The ‘Lost City’ star gushed at the time about the four members of the blended family: Randall’s daughter Skylar, Sandra’s son Louis, and Sandra’s daughter Laila.
She mentioned this about her experience raising their children with Randall: “He sets the example I wish my children to follow.”
Sandra Bullock’s Most Important Role
Oscar Victory Sandra Bullock discusses the experiences that have impacted her, including becoming a mother.
The normally reclusive diva opens up about the challenges of adopting and raising two Black children, as well as the difficulties she had in the foster care system and when co-parenting.
She went on to say that the couple had not hurried to get married since they valued their children more highly.
“I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner, devoted mother,” she said. “I don’t need to be told to be ever-present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”
Bullock has not yet addressed the public about her partner’s death.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the ALS Association or the Massachusetts General Hospital in lieu of flowers.
