Ricky Pearsall, A Rookie Wide Receiver With The San Francisco 49ers, Was Shot- His Mother Gives An Update
Ricky Pearsall, a rookie wide receiver with the San Francisco 49ers, was recently shot. Now that the incident has occurred, his mother is talking about it and giving an update on what went down.
The 23-year-old NFL standout Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery, leaving him gravely injured. His devoted mother, Erin Pearsall, has posted an update on social media as the young athlete is on the mend.
The San Francisco 49ers, the player’s team, revealed to CBS News on Sunday, September 1, that the 23-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his chest during the incident.
Regarding the event, the San Francisco 49ers released a statement on behalf of Ricky and his family.
They expressed their sincere gratitude in their letter to the San Francisco General Hospital medical staff as well as the San Francisco Police Department for their roles in Ricky’s care while he was in the hospital before his release.
On Saturday evening, August 31, San Francisco Police Chief William Scott conducted a news briefing outlining what transpired after Ricky was shot.
He claimed Ricky told him that at around 3:30 p.m. local time, when he was going a block away from Union Square (in San Francisco), an armed suspect tried to rob him.
This then led to a physical altercation between the two. “The struggle between Mr. Pearsall and the suspect ensued, and gunfire from the suspect’s gun struck both Mr. Pearsall and the subject,” divulged the police chief.
The armed robber made an attempt to escape from police custody, but the authorities caught him. The police have identified the culprit as a male 17-year-old from Tracy, North Carolina. The juvenile attacker was brought to the hospital following the event, much like Ricky.
Ricky’s mother, Erin, updated the public on the situation on social media after Chief William’s briefing. She began by giving thanks to God for keeping her son safe during the ordeal before explaining that Ricky’s spine was shot through, fortunately avoiding his important organs.
“He is in good spirits right now. Life is so precious, my friends. Please love [each other]. My son was spared today by the grace of GOD 🙏. Please pray for my baby 🙏❤️,” read the end of Erin’s statement.
The football player Ricky was seen at the San Francisco Card Show before suffering serious injuries from the gunfire. Ricky was pictured sitting at a table interacting with fans and signing autographs in a video that the 49ers Tailgate account shared. The film was produced in cooperation with someone by the name of Santos Hernandez.
Two ecstatic admirers were seen in the video chatting with Ricky, who was wearing a black t-shirt vest that highlighted the tattoos on his left arm.
The individual filming the video panted out to reveal the long line of people waiting to speak with Ricky one-on-one as the two concluded their conversation with the professional football player.
The camera then refocused on Ricky, showing him using a marker to sign something else for a different fan. When he was done, Ricky smiled broadly up at the fan, who then held out his hand to shake hands with Ricky.
Then Ricky autographed a tiny sculpture of a football helmet for a fan who had a cute little infant in her arms. Ricky grinned and struck up a conversation with the baby boy, then made a joke out of trying to give him a fist bump.
The child’s mother then snapped a cute photo of the infant with Ricky, who gestured for the child to look at the camera before grinning.
Video footage kept showing Ricky signing more items for supporters, including helmets, footballs, and photos. He also made time to smile for pictures with others who asked for them. The celebrity also shared more endearing exchanges with his younger followers.
