Pierce Brosnan’s Daughter Married In Secret Just Days Before The Tragedy
Charlotte Brosnan secretly wed just days before she died of the same illness that had killed her mother and grandmother.
In 2013, at the age of 42, she was married to her artist boyfriend Alex Smith, who was accompanied down the aisle by her father, Pierce Brosnan.
Unfortunately, she lost her battle with ovarian cancer just two weeks later…
Charlotte was Pierce Brosnan’s daughter from his marriage to Cassandra Harris in the ’80s.
Charlotte Harris was born into a famous family; her mother, Cassandra Harris, starred in the James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only,” thus even as a small child, Charlotte was already a household name.
Charlotte and her brother Cristopher were adopted by Pierce after the death of their original father in 1986.
They adopted his last name and received a half-brother, Sean, when Pierce fathered a child with their mom.
Ovarian cancer, which had also killed Cassandra Harris’ mother, was the official diagnosis for Harris in 1987.
Cassandra lost her own fight with ovarian cancer at the young age of 43 in 1991.
Reports indicate that Charlotte’s mother’s death had a profound effect on her. Experiencing the agony of watching her mother succumb to a terrible disease caused her to suffer from depression and substance abuse.
Charlotte reportedly entered a rehabilitation facility in England in 2003 in an effort to overcome her substance abuse problems.
Charlotte continued in the acting profession started by her parents, but ovarian cancer would return to threaten her life.
After receiving the same diagnosis as her mother, Charlotte endured a rigorous course of treatment.
Charlotte was able to keep her optimism throughout the ordeal.
But sadly, Charlotte passed away on June 28, 2013, with her loved ones by her side. She died with her husband Alex, their children Isabella and Lucas, and her brothers Christopher and Sean by her side.
Charlotte married the man she was meant to be with just days before her untimely demise. The couple wed in a small, intimate ceremony with only close friends and family present.
A family friend who was there says the wedding was beautiful, even if it seems so tragic now.
“It was the most moving day of my life. It wasn’t a day to be sad. Alex and Pierce were smiling broadly.”
After his “darling daughter” Charlotte’s untimely death, Pierce released a statement in which he praised her. It’s still relevant to us in many ways.
“On June 28 my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer,” Brosnan said, as per The Guardian.
She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.
“Charlotte fought her cancer with rare grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her, and that the cure for this wretched disease will be at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”
In the midst of filming the 2014 film November Man, the former James Bond star flew back to be by his daughter’s bedside just days after giving her away to her fiance, Alex Smith.
Charlotte is no longer with us, but her children have grown up.
The 21-year-old Isabella, her daughter, is a stunning likeness of her mother.

I pray she is okay and that she never has to go through what her mother and grandmother did.
