Once you learn these 5 brutal truths about life, you’ll be a much better person

We often talk about how life is not a bed of roses and how we all have to deal with different issues throughout our life. Unfortunately, sometimes, it so happens that in our daily course of life, we start to hope that everything will miraculously work out for us but that is not always the case.

One must remember the following truths and lead a life with their heads held high. The key is to be humble and take the high road as much as possible. One always has to accept that there will be ups and downs in their life and the only way to go about it is to take it in one’s stride.

1. Worrying is pointless

There is no upside to being anxious or worrying about things. Things will happen as they are supposed to and worrying or having bouts of anxiety will not improve the situation in any way. There has to be a moment when you come to realise what your life is and you have to find happiness and satisfaction right there instead of worrying about things that are out of your control. Do not fret over things that are beyond human control. It is only going to harm your health and peace of mind. Learn to take life as it comes.

2. Keeping an open mind is important

There are not many ways to lead a life. To be completely happy and find satisfaction, one cannot hold on to one specific opinion for all their lives. There are a million things that one person does not know, so it is important for all of us to keep an open mind and be open to change and learning new things. The world is dynamic and we have to change as it does, to find a piece of the sky for ourselves and be better people. Having an open mind also makes us kinder people, as we become more accepting of things and judge less.

3. Accepting change is important

We always have to remember that change is the only constant. The most basic example of this saying is the change from day to night and night to day on a daily basis. There is nothing that remains unchanged in the world, which is why it is only painful when we hold on to things as they are and cannot find the strength to accept change as it happens. As we grow up, one also has to find the maturity to be secure enough to embrace change because of its unavoidable nature. There is not much to life if we exclude change out of the workings of the Universe. It is the only law.

4. Temporary feelings cause pain

Temporary feelings are the greatest source of pain in the world. If we want happiness that does not bring pain or atonement with it, we have to seek happiness that is not from any external source but is something that comes from within us. Only then will we experience true and unconditional happiness. Any jubilation that comes from something material is only for a while. It will soon vanish and leave us with an empty space that will drive us crazy if we keep trying to fill it with things that are temporary. There is honestly no better secure source of happiness than something that your soul finds. Happiness in general is fleeting, so it is foolish to run after the material. Make your own happy place inside you and find a sanctuary within your soul.

5. Meditation heals

Meditation is the process of looking into our own self and making peace with things as they are. Once you start meditating, you will see how much it helps you and how much your life and how you look at things change. Regular meditation will render you in a state of extreme peacefulness and you will find it easier to heal. Every aspect of your life will improve in leaps and bounds. The best thing about mediation is how easy it is. All you have to do is close your eyes and focus on something that you think needs your attention. The results are beautiful.
