North Carolina Grandfather of Five Discovered Dead Following Mysterious Disappearance
A North Carolina grandfather was reported missing by his wife; he was later discovered deceased. Information about the heartbreaking news has been released, and his family has expressed their views.
Miguel Hung, 71, inexplicably vanished after leaving his Raleigh, North Carolina, home, and his death was discovered nearly two weeks later. Police officers and Miguel’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news. The devoted grandfather vanished some time between August 9 and the following morning.
Miguel, a retired auto salesman, reportedly drove his wife Pamela Hung’s silver Mercedes out of his home. Neither his money nor his phone were with him.
Officials from the Raleigh Police Department announced on Tuesday, August 20, that Miguel had been discovered dead about five miles from his residence at 3:55 a.m. local time.
While no further details were shared concerning Miguel’s demise, officers did confirm that there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding his passing.
The late patriarch’s family has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences they have received thus far, amidst this period of intense sadness.
Speaking on the matter, Miguel’s son, Mike Hung, divulged, “Sometimes you find beauty in the world. Family and friends reaching out, sharing stories, it definitely helps the healing.”
Miguel was motivated to create a better life, and at the age of 14, he immigrated to the United States from Cuba, decades before he passed away. Regretfully, he has had a number of health problems in the last few years, including psychological problems after a heart attack and bypass surgery in 2019.
In 2021, Miguel suffered a stroke and, afterward, began dealing with some aphasia. Mike disclosed that his late father’s health problems “put a pretty big cloud over him and he struggled with that the last few years.”
Mike said that despite this, Miguel’s generosity and compassion remained unwavering, as his father was always eager to assist others. Miguel also placed a high value on his friends and family, making time each day to spend time with the people he cared about.
Recalling fond memories of his dad when he was growing up, Mike shared, “He never missed a soccer game.” Miguel was also a favorite among Mike and his sibling’s former childhood teammates, who dubbed him their “favorite soccer dad.” “My dad was an incredible guy,” gushed Mike.
Miguel, who Mike called “the life of the party,” was also an amazing grandfather to five grandchildren. “He was looking forward to his retirement and spending time with his family and traveling,” Mike stated before Miguel’s death was confirmed.
Miguel’s devoted 45-year-old wife announced his disappearance on Facebook a few weeks before he was discovered dead. In addition to his aphasia, she disclosed in her statement that Miguel had been experiencing despair.
On August 11, Pamela penned, “My husband Miguel has been missing since yesterday morning. He’s driving my Silver C300 2016 Mercedes sedan with Black rims… Please contact me, my children and or the Raleigh PD if you happen to see him or my car, NClicense number HFJ6566.”
