Man Overhears Teen Making Fun Of Veteran Crying In The Bathroom
Marcus Pass merely wanted to eat in peace. A teenager’s laughter over an elderly man’s restroom difficulties caught his attention.
Marcus put off confronting the young man about his insensitivity. But first, he went to comfort the weeping elderly veteran who was locked in a stall.
Marcus rushed in to aid the elderly man in the restroom when he overheard the young man making rude comments to him. As he entered the restroom, he heard the poor man sobbing.
Therefore, he acted appropriately.
Act Of Compassion
The man said he’d forgotten his cane on the floor by the entrance. His legs had become too weak, and he was unable to stand on his own.
Marcus pleaded with the man to open the door for him. He noticed the man’s Vietnam veteran headgear and helped him gently pull up his pants.
The grateful recipient of Marcus’s hug thanked him profusely.
He spoke of it as the most humiliating experience of his life, and tears welled up in his eyes as he said it.
That’s unacceptable to Marcus. He extended his hand to the man with pride and thanked him for his service to the country.
Marcus couldn’t believe that anyone would make fun of the old veteran who was trapped in a stall.
He escorted the man out of the restaurant and into the lobby, where they both confronted the young man who had mocked them earlier. He urged the adolescent give the man the dignity of an apology.
We’re all going to get old, Marcus wrote on Facebook, but that’s no reason to treat a stranger cruelly.
To offer this man the respect he merits, God obviously placed Marcus in the right place at the right moment.
We’re relieved Marcus made the proper choice.

Rant of the day…. eating lunch at zaxbys and over hear some young man laughing about an older gentleman in the bathroom that couldn’t get off the toilet.
So I proceed to walk in and can hear this man crying on the toilet I ask him if he’s ok he said that his legs were to weak to stand up and he left his cane by the door.
I asked him to unlock the door and helped the man up and got his pants up for him, the man had a Vietnam veteran hat on and gave me a hug and told me that he’s 69 years old and that was the most embarrassing moment in his life with tears in his eyes……
I shook his hand and thanked him for all he’s done and walked him out to the lobby and made that teenager apologize to the man…
Moral of the story getting old is inevitable, but being a complete asshole to a stranger is not …….. rant over.
