Here’s How To Instantly Solve Fogged Windows On A Car (Thank Me Later)
On a chilly winter morning, nothing is more annoying than getting into your car to go to work and seeing that all of the windows are fogged up.
Drivers are aware that wiping the windows or turning on the air conditioner frequently exacerbates the issue by obstructing the vision with telltale streaks.
Fortunately, a quick and easy solution to the issue has gone popular on TikTok, and it costs less than £10. In order to overcome foggy car windows in the winter, social media user @allukreviews has provided a “life saving” tip.
He puts dehumidifiers on his car’s window sill in the TikTok instruction to avoid foggy windows the next morning.
“All you want to do is throw them [the dehumidifiers] on your dashboard and they’re going to soak up all of the moisture and the condensation from inside, stopping you from having to mess about wiping the inside of your windscreen in the morning,” he says in the clip. “The damp is actually bad for your car.”
Customers have praised the low-cost dehumidifiers in question in thousands of positive reviews on Amazon, calling them “absolute game changers.”
One five-star review reads, “In the colder months, I’ve suffered with awful water on the inside of my screen. Every morning, I’d spend a good 15 minutes waiting for it to clear. With this product, it is now pleasantly easy to just leave in the morning, and I only use one at a time in my golf.”
Another happy customer wrote, “I own a Nissan Juke and come winter, it has a tendency to mist up inside in the morning. Nuisance would be an understatement. These are an absolute game changer.”
Why does my car windscreen fog up in winter?
“Cars fog over during winter due to the temperature difference between the cold exterior and the warmer, moisture-filled air inside the vehicle,” Ivan Wu, Quality Engineer in Motoring at Halfords, says.
“When people in the car breathe, talk, or bring in moisture (from wet clothing or snow), it produces water vapour in the atmosphere, which results in condensation when it comes into contact with cold windows.”
Knowing how to clear your windscreen before you drive is crucial because it’s illegal to not have a clear view of the road.
How does the viral car dehumidifier work?
The popular vehicle dehumidifier is made to be used in RVs, caravans, and cars throughout the year. Because it is packed with natural granules, it will absorb extra moisture and condensation from the air, preventing fog from accumulating on your windshield.
Because it can be used again, it also offers excellent value for the money. The dehumidifier only has to be dried on a radiator, in an airing cupboard, or for no more than six minutes at 600W in a microwave.
When a heat-sensitive indicator has to be recharged, it will turn from pink (hot) to blue (cool).
Where to buy a dehumidifier for your car this winter
You can presently purchase the popular Hillington Reusable Car Interior Dehumidifier Bags on Amazon for £9.99, or £17.99 for a pair.
This tip will help make Monday mornings a little bit simpler, and if TikTok has taught us anything, it’s that we all lead similar lifestyles.
