Former President Jimmy Carter Arrives In Wheelchair At Late Wife Rosalynn’s Funeral

Wearing a sharp suit and wrapped in a blanket, Jimmy Carter was brought to his late wife Rosalynn’s burial on Tuesday.

He took a place at the front of the proceedings to bid his 77-year-old wife farewell.

The 99-year-old, who is presently receiving hospice care, traveled 2.5 hours from his Plains, Georgia, home to Atlanta in order to attend the ceremony.

On Monday, the body of his spouse was transported to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden were also present for the function. Every other past first lady, including Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Melania Trump, was invited

All of them were seen on Tuesday afternoon entering Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in a line, having attended as well.

The former president’s son, Chip Carter, stated in an interview with The Washington Post that his father had visited Rosalynn in her last moments, telling her he loved her and was proud of all the “wonderful things she had done” in her life.

She was well-known for her unwavering support of improved mental health services and increased public understanding of mental health issues.

She battled valiantly to lessen the stigma associated with mental health.

The day before Rosalynn passed away, on November 18, Jimmy reportedly asked for a minute by himself with his wife.

Chip said that he was probably praying with her in their private chamber, where his own hospice bed had been arranged so that they could face each other.
