Brad Pitt Is Being Accused Of Physical Abuse By Angelina Jolie That “Started Well Before” The Famous Plane Episode
Once upon a time, they were Hollywood’s “it” couple, a pair of stars who could shine brighter than the greatest lights.
Sadly, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s marriage was doomed to fail, and these days, any news stories that talk about them both at the same time are usually about how bad their divorce and subsequent court fights were.
Reports say that a new court document says Brad Pitt’s “physical abuse” of his ex-wife began before the famous plane incident in 2016.
In recent years, the two famous people have fought over the sale of a French farm they bought together. Their once-strong relationship has been broken into sharp pieces in public view.
Pitt sued Jolie and her old company Nouvel in 2022 for selling her part of the winery. Pitt said that the two of them had agreed not to sell their shares without first getting permission from each other. Because of this, the actor said, his ex-wife had “jeopardize[d] the reputation of the business that Pitt so carefully built”.
After that, Jolie hit back. In court papers, she said Pitt had been violent on a 2016 flight from France to California. Pitt was charged by the Tomb Raider actress of “grabbing” her “by the head” and then hitting two of their children.
A few days after that plane ride, Jolie filed for divorce, and the couple’s formal split took place in 2019. Pitt has denied the charges against him, and the incident is being looked into by federal officials, but no criminal charges have been brought.
Fresh papers from Jolie’s lawyers were sent to Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, April 4, according to new accounts. They make it sound like Brad’s physical abuse started earlier than was thought before.
A copy of the motion was given to CNN. It says, “While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”
In the papers, the alleged abuse isn’t described in more detail, but they do say that Jolie wants to “prove through through testimony, emails, photographs, and other evidence why Pitt was so concerned about his own misconduct that he blew up his own deal to purchase Jolie’s interest in Miraval because she refused to agree to his new, expansive NDA.”
It is also said that Jolie offered to sell Pitt her share of the French winery in question, but he would only agree if she signed a promise not to tell anyone about the deal.
That NDA is said to have “prohibited Jolie from speaking (other than in court) about Pitt’s abuse of Jolie and their children by attempting to tie Pitt’s personal reputation to Miraval’s business.”
People say that a close friend of Pitt’s said, “This is a pattern of behavior – whenever there is a decision that goes against the other side they consistently choose to introduce misleading, inaccurate and/or irrelevant information as a distraction.” Pitt’s team has not yet responded to Jolie’s filing alleging abuse before the plane ride from France to Los Angeles.
“There was a lengthy custody trial that involved the entire history of their relationship and a judge who heard all the evidence still granted him 50/50 custody.”
