Reese Witherspoon, 47, and Kevin Costner, 68, are apparently trying to date again after their divorces—with each other. Reese and Kevin discovered they have chemistry as they were talking about possible projects, an insider informed New Idea.
“They’ve been calling and texting on the pretense of finding the perfect script, but it’s becoming almost a daily occurrence,” the source said. The source says they’re “extremely compatible,” and their friends agree. Both of their most recent marriages ended earlier this year.
After 18 years of marriage, Kevin filed for divorce from Christine Baumgartner. The media covered the tumultuous divorce with great attention. In May 2023, Christine filed for divorce. September was the end of their months-long back-and-forth on their divorce.
Reese was married to Jim Toth for nearly 12 years. The former couple announced that they were separating in March, and settled their divorce in August. Their divorce was a lot less dramatic, according to E! News. “There is no drama, no event, no reason,” a source told E! News in April. “They are just two people who have made this decision with the utmost love, respect and love for their child.” Reese also told Harper’s Bazaar that it was “a vulnerable time for [her],” but she also didn’t “feel isolated at all.”
Now, Kevin and Reese are reportedly taking it slow and getting to know each other. “He and Reese are always careful not to be seen together, but as soon as his Horizon commitments are done, they may be more relaxed about being seen together in public. It’s still very early days,” the source told New Idea.
