A Close Friend Talks About The Illness That “Ravaged” The Late Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff’s Body
Many people are shocked by the untimely death of Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff. A longtime acquaintance now provides fresh information regarding the health issues she faced in the years leading up to her passing.
Terry Ahern, a close friend of Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, is sharing details of the health issues that plagued her in the years before her death.
Terry, who worked closely with the actress for over a decade, revealed that Pamela battled severe arthritis stemming from an accident that left lasting damage. “Pam’s body was ravaged from arthritis caused by the accident. It continued to spread and wreak havoc,” he said.
On March 5, Pamela was discovered dead at her Los Angeles residence. Those close to her were shocked when the L.A. Medical Examiner later declared her death to be a suicide. Terry, who hadn’t spoken to her in a few months, remembered how thrilled she was about her daughter Taylor’s August birth of a granddaughter, London.
“She was just over the moon being a grandmother — over the moon,” he recalled. Her unexpected passing left him in disbelief. “She was the last person in the world I would think [would do that],” he said. “It’s a shock.”
Terry says Pamela’s health issues started in 2003 after she and her husband, David Hasselhoff, were in a terrible motorbike accident. She spent months in intensive care as she healed from smashed bones after the accident, which left her hospitalized with a broken neck and back.

Over the years, complications from her injuries took their toll. “That plagued her — the arthritis from it,” Ahern explained. “Because that stuff catches up to you when you get older — injuries that are [from] earlier, arthritis sets in…”
Pamela continued to be surrounded by affection in spite of her difficulties. Her most well-known performances were in “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch,” and she developed a close-knit circle of devoted friends. Many others are still struggling with the loss of someone who seemed so vibrant after her death.
Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that after being unable to contact her, worried relatives went to her house, as was previously reported. When they got there, they found her inside the closed house.
On Wednesday, March 5, just after 10 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the residence after receiving a report of a woman who was unconscious.
Pamela was declared dead at the spot by paramedics. Authorities verified that a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head was the cause of death. At the scene, no note was discovered.
David and Pamela had two daughters together: Taylor and Hayley. Both girls have followed in their parents’ footsteps by pursuing jobs in the entertainment industry. London, Pamela’s first and only granddaughter, was also her grandchild.
Following news of her passing, Pamela’s representative, Sharon Kelly, spoke to TMZ, sharing her heartbreak over the sudden loss. Kelly described Pamela as a “Force of Nature” and said, “She will be missed.”
Kelly went on to express her sympathies to Pamela’s family, including her daughters and granddaughter, saying, “My heart goes out to her family, her beautiful daughters and granddaughter who Pamela constantly gushes about and loves so dearly.”
Pamela frequently talked about how proud she was of her children’ achievements and how happy she was to be a grandma. On December 28, 2024, a few months before she passed away, she posted a touching Instagram picture of her first Christmas with her granddaughter London.
In the post, Pamela wrote, “Merry (Belated) Christmas!” along with, “Even though My Precious Grandaughter [sic] – London may not remember it yet, our first Christmas with her was absolutely magical. The day was filled with love, joy, and precious moments with family. We cherish these wonderful memories we made.”
The post featured photos of Pamela embracing her granddaughter, surrounded by her daughters and other family members. Her caption continued with warm holiday wishes, saying, “Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season and a very Happy New Year!”
Pamela’s relationship with her family also included time spent with her ex-husband. An Instagram photo of Pamela and David from the June 15, 1996, grand launch of “Jurassic Park: The Ride” reappeared in May 2023.
A happier period when the ex-couple was still together and enjoying the limelight was depicted in the sentimental post. Later, their daughter Hayley highlighted the importance of those shared moments by reposting the throwback to her Instagram Story.

In addition to her private life, Pamela had a prosperous acting career that brought her notoriety on a global scale. Germany recognized her as one of its favorite actors and gave her the Otto Award. Pamela balanced duties on “Baywatch” and “Sirens,” becoming one of the only actors to appear on two television programs simultaneously.
Pamela played Kaye Morgan on “Baywatch,” a kind café owner who frequently stepped in to support the show’s renowned lifeguard crew. She played a more somber character on “Sirens,” Ellen Baskin, a tough police psychologist. Pamela’s work on “Baywatch” spanned ten years, and both personas gave her the chance to demonstrate her range.
Alongside seasoned actors like Ernest Borgnine and Diane Ladd, Pamela also starred in movies like “Castle Rock” (2000) and “More Than Puppy Love” (2002). Her professional cinematic debut came earlier in her career when she was cast in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Rumble Fish” (1983).
Pamela’s career and personal life frequently took place in the spotlight, especially following her divorce from David. After 16 years of marriage, the couple’s divorce was formalized on July 26, 2006. They both mentioned intractable differences.
At the time, Pamela expressed her feelings to the Associated Press, saying, “I’ve always loved him and always will, and have love and compassion for him. It’s a very, very sad day, but a day to move on.”
The former couple, who were both minors at the time, were granted shared custody of their daughters by the court.
For those who followed Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff’s career, her untimely death represents a sad moment and a challenging chapter for her loved ones. The family has requested time to grieve privately as they work through this difficult period.
