7 Things You Lose When You Become Spiritually Awakened
If you’re someone who has undertaken a journey to learn more about your spirituality in order to achieve a spiritual awakening, you have come to the right place. The path you’ve chosen comes with many crossroads so there are a lot of decisions to be made and changes to accommodate.
The twists and turns of the path are required if you wish to be spiritually awakened.
There are times when we unconsciously hold on to some negative idea and feelings which effectively keep us away from the realm of spirituality. When you are awakened, you are able to see your own true self, as well as the landmines you’ll need to avoid.
The road will be rough and you won’t be able to get rid of all the toxicity in one go but you need to keep going, one step at a time, never letting anything hold you back. Understand that even the difficulties are an essential part of the journey and each hurdle you cross will only add to your strength.
Below are some of the toxic feelings that you will be cleansed of while you walk the path that will bring you in touch with your spirituality.
1. Worry
The closer you get to inner peace, the more you’ll understand that you don’t need to be in charge at all times. You are able to give up control and this makes you less stressed and anxious. You accept that you can’t change what has happened or what will happen, so you live entirely in the moment. You understand that the only thing you can control is the present.
2. Fearing that you will fail
We’re conditioned to believe that there is no coming back from failure. But failure is an essential part of the learning process. None of us would have learned to walk as children if we hadn’t fallen a few times. Learn from your mistakes and use that knowledge to grow and prosper.

3. Hate
The world is heavily polarized and all around us we see hate and intolerance on the rise. Hate can only give way to more hate, so there is no point allowing it any importance, no matter the circumstance. Accept that we are made for love and you will learn to be free. You now understand how toxic that emotion can be to your mind and your body, and you are totally free of it. Hatred no longer exists in your world.
4. Avarice
“Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.” – Erich Fromm
If the desire for worldly riches takes over your whole life, you will put away all that really matters. The people around you and your own mental health are more important than anything else. Find contentment and concentrate on happiness and leave greed behind you, as you understand that it will never bring you peace.
5. Vengeance
‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’ is an age old concept but that doesn’t mean that it is right. Hate is what spurs you take revenge and it only brings negative energies into your life. Forgive and forget so that the toxicity doesn’t flower inside you.
6. Self doubt
From our early childhoods, we are forced to compare ourselves to others, and we’ve often found ourselves falling short. Parents even compete about whose child will walk first or talk first and the children inculcate that habit by the time they are grown up. Remember that no two people are the same and neither are the paths we are given. Rather than focusing on the path someone else has been given, just look to your own and carry on.
7. Envy
This derives from society teaching us to always compare ourselves with others. We are entranced by the riches owned by other people and start to feel bad about the lives we are leading. Rather than working towards our goals, we become envious and we let that emotion blind us. Just concentrate on your own awakening and let others live as they must. Envy and jealousy of others is a waste of your energy and your time and now you are free from it!
