Tourist’s Final Words To Mom Before 1,600ft Fall Into Indonesian Volcano
The last text sent by the 26-year-old lady who died after falling into a volcano crater while hiking has been made public, which is every mother’s worst nightmare.
After the horrific event, the distraught mother of Brazilian traveler Juliana Marins revealed her daughter’s parting letter. She texted her mother during the trip to express her excitement and to share her passion of travel with her family.
When Marins fell from a cliff atop a volcano on the Indonesian island of Lombok, her horrific last moments were captured on camera. A search party set out to find her after she collapsed on the morning of June 21.
Gunung Rinjani National Park wrote on Facebook on Monday, June 23, they her location was being “successfully monitored using a drone, in a position stuck on a rock cliff at a depth of 500 meters and visually motionless.”

On June 24, it was tragically reported that Marins had not survived the fall and that her body had been located.
Her communications, which were hopeful for the visit but bittersweet regarding her family, have recently been retrieved by the Brazilian news program Fantástico.
The Sun translated the texts, which read: “Mami, I love you so much. I was heartbroken when we said goodbye.”
She declared to her relatives that she was “not afraid.”
The messages continued: “In fact, that’s the only thing that worries me: letting you, papi or my sister be disappointed. Other than that, I’m not afraid of much, much less trouble,” she wrote.
“I was raised by a woman who can solve any problem and who is not afraid to take the plunge and go after her dreams. I am like that too. I have different desires and dreams,” Marins added. “I love you all very much! And I will always be grateful for all the support, care and affection. That is what makes me not afraid.”
Social media has been used by the young woman’s family to vent their rage, accusing the rescue crew of “negligence” and claiming that their daughter could have been saved if they had taken action sooner.
They wrote on social media on June 25: “If the team had reached her within the estimated time of 7 hours, Juliana would still be alive.”
“Juliana deserved much more! Now we are going to seek justice for her, because that is what she deserves! Don’t give up on Juliana!”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil shared the news: “After four days of work, made difficult by adverse weather, ground and visibility conditions in the region, teams from the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency found the body of the Brazilian tourist.”
According to reports, Marins was hiking with a guide at the time of the event. She had requested a break, but the group continued without her. She had fallen off the cliff when the guide returned to find her.
Tereza Cristina from the Brazilian Federal Senate wrote: “The entire Brazil cheered and prayed that the rescue would arrive in time to save the young woman from Niterói, Juliana Marins, alive. Unfortunately, they could not save her. Very sad.”
“Our condolences to her family and friends. And may the Brazilian government, through Itamaraty, demand an investigation of the facts and the punishment of those responsible in Indonesia.”
“In practice, Juliana was left behind twice: on the dangerous trail and after she fell off the cliff.”
The path has been regarded as “really hard” by previous hikers.
