Rocky Horror Legend Tim Curry Makes Rare Appearance 13 Years After Devastating Stroke
In a rare public appearance, British actor Tim Curry was seen on Thursday in Los Angeles with his caretaker.
The 79-year-old Rocky Horror star was seen pushing a wheelchair out of Gelson’s supermarket in the sunny west coast city.
Tim sported a long-sleeved red T-shirt for the event. Tim also played hotel concierge Mr. Hector in the beloved Home Alone 2.
After passing out at his California home in 2012, Tim had a stroke that left him speechless and partially paralysed on one side of his body.

The renowned actor has been virtually invisible and hardly seen after suffering a stroke at the age of 66.
Prior to the health emergency, Tim had a distinguished acting career after becoming well-known in 1975 thanks to The Rocky Picture Show.
The actor’s most well-known performance was in the film as Dr. Frank N. Furter, a brilliantly insane scientist.
Prior to portraying the same role in the 1975 movie, he played the role on Broadway after originally appearing in the original 1973 London staging.
He told Los Angeles magazine that he views the success of the movie “with a sort of bemused tolerance” in reference to the role that made him a household name.
He continued, “It’s neither a blessing nor a curse. I was lucky to get it.”
He avoided talking about the film for many years out of concern that he would be stereotyped.
Tim remembered his Broadway debut in The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s opening night as “very exciting,” but he thought the show’s critics were much too critical.
“I had to go on the Today Show the next day and they read the reviews – which were appalling,” he explained. “That brought me down. It was very cruel.”
His portrayal was characterised in the reviews as “a combination of Burt Lancaster and Joan Crawford” and “Mick Jagger, David Bowie, and Marc Bolan all in one.”
He later played the stuffy and suspicious Mr. Hector in the cast of Home Alone 2, which was released in 1990.
Despite not having a leading role, his character was among the most recognisable to emerge from the blockbuster Christmas movie’s sequel.
At the 2015 Tony Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, Tim received The Actors Fund Lifetime Achievement Award.
