Biden Unleashes On Trump And Musk In First Big Speech Since Leaving Office

In his first speech after leaving office, former President Joe Biden attacked Elon Musk and President Donald Trump.

In Chicago on Tuesday night, Biden was the main speaker at the Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled conference.

The 82-year-old loudly asked, “Who in the hell do they think they are?” as he went after Trump, Republicans and DOGE for destabilizing Social Security.

Why are these guys taking aim at Social Security now?’ the former president asked. ‘They’re following that old line from tech startups – the quote is “move fast, break things.” They’re shooting first and aiming later.

He claimed that Musk and Trump were causing “needless pain and sleepless nights” without mentioning their names.

Biden cited Martin O’Malley, who introduced the former president at Tuesday’s ceremony and served as the Social Security Administration’s Commissioner during his administration.

“My friend Gov. O’Malley knows what they’re really up to, he says, and I love this quote – they want to wreck it so they can rob it,’ Biden went on. ‘Why do they want to rob it? To deliver huge tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations and keep it going.”

O’Malley criticized Trump and Musk during his introduction of Biden, claiming that they had “gutted the Social Security Administration with a chainsaw” and caused the “largest exodus of staff the agency has ever suffered.”

The claim that “there is a massive zombie apocalypse of dead people” on the Social Security rolls was their “big lie” during Trump 2.0, according to O’Malley.

The other huge falsehood, according to the former governor of Maryland, was that illegal immigrants were “sucking Social Security dry.”

As O’Malley noted, unauthorized immigrants are already prohibited from receiving Social Security payments.

DOGE’s actions were portrayed as a “massive breaking-and-entering in process” overall.

After making a little jest on DOGE’s findings, Biden became more solemn.

“By the way, those 300-year-old folks getting Social Security, I’d like to meet them,” the 82-year-old said. “Helluva thing man. I’m looking for longevity. Because it is hell when you turn 40 years old,” he said to laughs.

Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential campaign last summer due to age-related concerns helped pave the way for Trump’s comeback.

Biden resorted to similar themes he had discussed throughout his career, such as the idea that a job is about “dignity” and not just a wage.

He talked about hard-working Americans across.

“The last thing they need from their government is deliberate cruelty,” he said.

Biden criticized the MAGA movement in general as well.

“I said I’ve been doing this a long time, it’s never been this divided. Granted it’s roughly 30 percent, but it’s a 30 percent that has no heart,” the former president said.

Since leaving office in January, Biden has maintained a low profile; nonetheless, he is now again permitted to travel between Wilmington, Delaware, and Washington, D.C., on his favorite Amtrak train.

Photos of the 82-year-old leader on the train have been shared by other travelers.

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, made fun of the Democrat before his first post-presidential speech.

“My first reaction when seeing former President Biden was speaking tonight was: I’m shocked that he is speaking at night time,” Leavitt said from the podium Tuesday.

The president was ‘dependably engaged’ between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to Axios, after Biden’s dismal debate performance in Atlanta last June.  Biden would “have verbal miscues and become fatigued” outside of those hours, according to aides who spoke to the news site.

“I thought his bedtime was much earlier than his speech tonight,” Leavitt cracked to the press corps.

Biden’s remarks The initial time for Tuesday was 4:45 p.m. CDT.

At 5:14 p.m. CDT, the former president, who is notoriously late, began his remarks.

Leavitt attempted to deflect Biden’s criticism of Republicans for cutting Social Security funding.

“Let me make it very clear ahead of former President Biden’s remarks, the president, this president, President Trump, is absolutely certain about protecting Social Security benefits for law-abiding, tax-paying American citizens and seniors who have paid into this program,” Leavitt said.
