The Bus Driver Did Not Consider The Picture Of Holding Crying Kid’s Hand To Be A “Big Deal,” But The Local Police Did

You probably recall the anxiety and tension that accompanied your very first day of school.

Although not all children feel these emotions, it’s safe to assume that a sizable portion of them are anxious before leaving home on their own and venturing into the unknown.

Axel, a little boy, most definitely was. Even though his mother, Amy Johnson, had assured him that everything would be OK, he was finding it difficult to accept the thought of being separated from her.

When Isabel Lane, the bus driver, drew up to pick Axel up, she saw his nervousness almost instantly.

“He was all smiles when he saw me around the corner,” Isabel said. “And then I started to slow down. And that’s when you could see his face kind of start to change.”

Axel was picked up by Amy and put on the closest bus seat. She then attempted to get a picture of her son so they would have a keepsake for the future.

But that would turn out to be more difficult than anticipated. Axel was grasping for Amy as soon as she started to leave. Isabel, the bus driver, did something quite amazing at that moment: she reached behind her and took Axel’s hand.

Amy received the necessary snap thanks to that consoling gesture. She posted it to Facebook, where it quickly became well-liked by others.

The picture was also shared by the local police department, which commended Isabel for supporting Amy during a trying period.

“I didn’t think it was like that big of a deal personally. I guess this is something that I would do,” Isabel later said.

Isabel’s simple gesture of consolation proved to be exactly what Axel needed, according to sources. The following day, the 10-year-old had a new attitude; he waited at the station by himself, greeted Isabel, and boarded the train.

Isabel, good job! Amy is undoubtedly very appreciative of what you did for her son.
