Liam Payne Reason For Balcony Jump Finally Revealed

Liam Payne purposefully leaped from his third-floor balcony, but he had no intention of hurting himself, according to recent accounts. He was attempting to flee the hotel, but the staff dragged him in and “forced” him to stay.

Recent sources state that Liam Payne, who passed away on October 16 at the age of 31, had a habit of escaping captivity by exploiting the balconies of hotel rooms.

Payne “hated” being confined to rooms, “something he had to deal with during his time in One Direction,” according to TMZ.

Payne’s bodyguard locked him in his room at a rented home in Florida in September, only one month before his tragic drop, because he thought the singer was on a “drug binge.”

That evening, Payne carefully repelled a garden hose to the ground, using the balcony as his escape route.

He apparently hoped for another safe landing when he fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of his Argentine hotel room.

Carried to his room

According to TMZ, this notion is supported by the police report, a 911 call, security footage, and witness accounts.

Shortly before the singer’s untimely demise, the publication obtained CCTV footage from the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel lobby in Buenos Aires.

In the video, Payne is seen standing straight and then acting “erratically” in the hotel’s lobby, thwarting attempts by personnel to escort him back to his room.

Just minutes before he passes away, three individuals are seen bringing Payne to his hotel room while attempting to restrain him.

Firmly handled by the three men, the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer is “splayed out” and “clearly conscious,” “holding his head upright.”

Balcony was his escape

Not long after his feet are raised off the floor, he is led to the door of his hotel room, where he struggles once more and declines to enter.

“The hotel used a master key to enter the room, put Liam inside,” and, according to the police report obtained by TMZ, “they removed a mirror from the wall directly outside his room, presumably so he wouldn’t damage it.”

The frightened staff member who contacted 911 is thought to have repeated Payne’s word to the workers that if he were pushed into the room, he would use the balcony as an escape route.

The 911 transcript, published by Reuters, confirms this idea: “We need you to send someone urgently because, well, I don’t know if the guest’s life is at risk. He is in a room with a balcony. And, well, we are a little afraid that he will do something that will put his life at risk.”

Minutes after being left alone and trapped in his hotel room, the “Teardrops” singer allegedly carried out his threat and fled via the balcony.

Getaway bags

When his body was found on the ground, he had a bag strapped around his shoulder that TMZ reports “was not on him when he was carried from the lobby.”

Another item he had not previously worn, a black New York Yankees hat, was discovered close by, indicating that he had placed the cap on his head while in the room.

Police records state that Payne’s jump was much shorter because he was going from the third-story balcony to the second-story balcony rather than a three-story drop. Two days later, another hotel employee found a brown leather bag on the balcony below, which lends credence to this theory.

The bag, “not the bag strapped to his shoulder,” was packed with pills and a bottle of whiskey, along with a note that said “for Liam.”

According to TMZ, “he probably dropped the bag to the balcony on the [second] floor before trying to drop it down himself.”

He may have been unconscious when he fell from the balcony, according to the coroner, but he was cognizant before entering the room where he packed his escape gear.

Three charged

Authorities in Argentina are attempting to defend the hotel that reportedly put the property over the safety of a visitor, an insider told TMZ.

According to a November 7 press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, three people have been charged with “supply and facilitation of narcotics,” and one faces additional charges of “abandonment of a person followed by death,” a sentence that carries up to 15 years in prison.

The names of individuals charged have not been disclosed.
