Couple Share Creepy Video After Making Chilling Discovery Under Stairs Of Their New Home
After discovering something horrifying beneath the stairs, a couple posted some eerie video of their house.
At the best of times, older homes can be a little unsettling because of all the creaking, but what if you lived in a Victorian home and found a whole area of it you were unaware of?
That’s just what happened to one couple, who found a whole new living space beneath their apartment’s staircase.
The video is somewhat eerie, even though it sounds fantastic.
The video, which @dr_scaryy posted on TikTok, actually shows a hole in the stairway that leads to additional chambers that the user was unaware of.
“Under the stairs we knocked it through, and then you look through the hole and it is just a f*g staircase,” the woman in the video claims.
The secret staircase’s bottom door opens into a space that appears to have been unoccupied for a long time, along with a number of chambers, small rooms, and “endless tunnels.”
The pair explains that the rooms had been “underneath” them the entire time, and it actually looks like something from a horror movie.
“This is all underneath me—I’m not going to be able to sleep,” she says.
Since @dr_scaryy clarified that the chambers hadn’t been mentioned when they purchased it, it’s unclear if the previous owners were aware of them.
The pair may see light from the road above when the camera pans upwards at one point.
The video piqued the interest of many viewers, who wanted to know when the rooms were last used.
Others, however, believed it to be rather typical of a Victorian home.
One replied, “No, it’s just a cellar; the apartment is part of a big house that’s been divided; the cellars were used for storage and sometimes staff accommodation.”
Another person remarked, “That’s so cool.”
Another individual added: “Just make the door secure and start renovating each room under you one at a time until you have a massive secured space you can use; no one needs to know.”
And a fourth person commented: “Its been used relatively recently (the last 40 years) because there’s a plastic bread tray in there plus a ratchet strap on the floor.”
While a fifth said: “What are they complaining about? It’s extra square footage.”
If you found out, how would you feel?
