Meeting new people could be challenging and thrilling experience. If you look at your friends or partner now, you could have never imagined that they would mean so much to you someday. Psychologists have come up with a set of questions that will help you in getting to know someone better when you first meet them.

Their choice of books, magazines can help you form an idea about their likes and dislikes.
It will also help you to engage in a discussion on different topics like politics etc. and reveals their choice of recreational activities, like what they prefer doing in their spare time.
4. What is your dream job?
This question has a lot potential on the creativity front. You will know whether they have a creative or funny side to them thanks to this question. They could reply with something like a wine taster, actress or maybe a broker. How quickly they answer shows whether or not they have thought about it. It also reveals a lot about their current job if they are working professionals… if they are happy or unhappy with it.
Future plans and ambitions will also be revealed as you continue with the conversation.
5. Who is your personal hero?
Hero worship is common. This question will reveal whom they consider worthy enough to idolize or see as a role model. It could be a family member, a sports star, celebrity or an author. This is a great opportunity to learn about their values. You could get an idea about what kind of things they follow and would like to achieve in life. They could mention the things they aspire to have in themselves or the things they desire the most in others.
So why don’t you give these questions a try next time you are introduced to a stranger at a party, or if you think you like someone. Although they might seem like a basic questions, if you pay close attention to the answers they will tell you everything you need to know.
