After Kate Was Suddenly Taken To The Hospital, Prince William Spends The Morning By Her Bedside
When it was suddenly reported earlier this week that Kate Middleton had abdominal surgery, royal fans all over the world went into a brief state of panic.
The news from Kensington Palace said that the princess would have to stay in bed in the hospital for two weeks and would not be able to go to any royal events until after Easter.
As is often the case with sensitive topics and the Royal Family, the official reason for Kate’s surgery is still a secret. What we do know is that the surgery went well and that Kate is now recovering.
Obviously, the news that such a high-ranking member of the British royal family needs surgery that will keep her in bed for two weeks was very upsetting, but everyone can rest easy knowing that Kate is getting the best care possible.
On top of that, new stories say that Prince William went yesterday to spend the morning with his wife in bed. The prince was seen leaving The London Clinic, where Kate is seeing a doctor, in a black Audi. His bodyguards were following behind in a Range Rover.
Kensington Palace said in a long statement on Wednesday that the Princess of Wales will stay at a private London hospital for ten to fourteen days. She also says she “unlikely” will return to work until after Easter.
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” Kensington Palace said in a post on its social media pages.
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”
The statement continued: “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
A lot of royal fans were worried about Kate on social media and wished her a quick recovery.
“Feel better soon, Catherine. Even while she’s not well, she’s worried about everything going on around her. You take care of you and I’m sure people understand the need to respect your privacy for your children. They would want the same for their own,” one wrote.
Another added: “Prayers for a successful recovery for the Princess of Wales and for her lovely family as they navigate this difficult time.”
A third said: “My thoughts and prayers are with her and her whole family.”
“14 days is a long stay, hope she’s ok,” another stated.
It’s important to say again that what little we know about Kate’s surgery makes it clear that it was planned and not an emergency. Also, at this point, it’s been said that Kate’s surgery was “non-cancerous.”
Prince William will likely spend less time in public while Kate heals so that he can spend more time with their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It is known that Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, will also be there to help her get better.
Around the same time that she had surgery, it was reported that King Charles would also be going to the hospital soon. The king is getting ready for a corrective operation after being diagnosed with a benign enlarged prostate. That news came out of Buckingham Palace an hour and a half after Kensington Palace told the public about Kate’s surgery.
