9 Things Self-Respecting People Never Tolerate
There are times in our lives when we go through things that are harder than usual and we have to rise to the occasion and pass the test of time.
If you are a self respecting being, there are a few things that you should not put up with, at any cost!
1. People pleasing
Your opinion is the only one that should matter to you. Do what feels right and what your heart wants and says you should. Your gut should be your guardian. Take suggestions but do what you want to do. What you shouldn’t do is things that you don’t want to but you do them in order to please other people. Do what is best for you, not what is best for someone else!
2. Negative view of yourself
The first step towards success and finding positivity in life is to develop a good, healthy and loving relationship with yourself first. If you keep looking down on yourself, you will never find happiness or satisfaction. Allow yourself to grow and remember that growth does not take place without positivity.
You must always remember that great things happen only out of your comfort zone. If you keep basking in the comfort of a safety that you have created and don’t take chances and risks, there will be no place for you to grow and do great things. If you are a self respecting person, you will push yourself as hard as you can to reach excellence and be the best version of yourself.
4. Trying to fit in
In order to truly stand out and do something that is remarkable, you have to go against the grain. Fitting in can never lead to standing out. You just need to find your own music and you will find that the world is dancing to it. You are your own person and you have to make, if not find, your own place in the world. Be yourself unapologetically. Do what you want and stop trying to fit in.

5. Working at a job you hate
There is nothing more damning to your spirit than doing something that you hate. Do not stick to a job that does not set your soul on fire and makes you feel alive. There is more to this life than just making ends meet and meeting deadlines. As a self respecting individual, you owe it to yourself to truly find your calling and serve your purpose. Live like life is supposed to be lived. There is nothing better than doing what you love!
6. Not taking care of your health
You have to understand that nobody but you is responsible for making you the happiest you can possibly be, and happiness is something that comes from within. If you neglect your health and do not give it the importance that any self respecting individual would, you would be the one losing out and nobody else. You need to be fit and fine to enjoy life.
7. Toxic relationships
Your friends and partners, and the people around you, should accept you the way you are, love you and help you grow. If you find that people around you are just trying to control you and messing with your peace of mind, it is time to let these relationships go and find better ones. Never be afraid to let go of such relationships and stop letting toxic people into your life.
Nothing kills potential like laziness does. It has become easier to become lazy now, too. There is not much that one needs to physically do, but if we let this laziness take over our lives, we will never reach where we are meant to be or accomplish anything. Try to remain active and productive.
9. Not choosing happiness
Most of the times, given how negativity has spread around us, we give up on striving to be happy because we get comfortable in a mediocrity. If you are a truly self respecting human being, you will never stop chasing happiness because you know that all of us deserve to be ridiculously happy. Choose to be happy every morning of every day. Stay positive and good things will come to you.
