Viral Bearded Man At Charlie Kirk Shooting Finally Speaks Out

An Online indignation was triggered by a Utah Valley University video that showed a man applauding following Charlie Kirk’s murder. While others ducked for cover, a bearded man wearing a baseball cap lifted his arms in the video. He was accused by many viewers of cheering the activist’s passing.

The video soon gained millions of views on X, making it one of the most shared photos from the disaster. In the wake of the shooting, some called his actions impolite and unsettling.

Later, the individual denied the charges in a statement, referring only to himself as David. In an effort to show strength and avert panic, he yelled, “USA! USA!” to try to calm the throng rather than celebrate.

David clarified that he initially believed the loud crack to be fireworks, but when none materialized, he recognized it as gunfire. He shouted to keep people focused and divert energy instead of escalating turmoil since he thought Kirk was seriously injured.

He emphasized that he was not a follower of Kirk’s work and never wished harm on anyone. Still, a second video he posted raised eyebrows, where he vaguely referred to “my soldiers, including Charlie,” and described himself as “the happiest person you ever met.”

Tyler Robinson, 22, was taken into custody by the police and charged with aggravated murder for allegedly firing the fatal shot. According to reports, his father saw FBI photos and turned him in.

Kirk, 31, died after being struck in the neck during a student debate. Tributes poured in across political lines, with Donald Trump calling him “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk.”

David’s viral moment illustrates how confusion and misinterpretation often spread in the immediate aftermath of tragedies. He maintains his actions were misunderstood, insisting, “I would never cheer for someone’s death.”
