Video Of A 10-year-old Saving His Mom From Certain Death Goes Viral
A mother from Oklahoma was going for a certain death, as her hero son approached and save her life seconds after she began seizing in the pool.
Gavin Keeney and his mom Lori were having a great morning, when events suddenly took a U turn.
“When I was laying on the porch playing with my dog and then I heard like splashing and kind of drowning-ish. So I got up and looked and she was just seizing in the pool,” Gavin said.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Gavin jumped in the pool immediately and dragged his mother to safety and kept her head above the water.
An outdoor camera caught the frightening scene.
“it maybe rough for some to see but y’all…LOOK AT MY BABY SAVING MY LIFE…literally saving my life,” Lori proudly wrote alongside a clip of Gavin saving her.
“I’m okay, I took in just a little water we think before Gavin got me. I can’t believe I just said that. I can’t believe I’m typing this. I CAN believe what I saw in Gavin, my little hero. I just can’t believe he HAD to do it and that’s what breaks my heart.”
Lori suffers from epileptic seizures, and this wasn’t the first time her son rescued her. Nearly two years ago she underwent a surgery and wasn’t able to swallow normally. When she was eating she chocked on some food, and Gavin did the Heimlich maneuver on her.
“The last thing I really remember is his little arms reach around me and try with all his might, and then he said ‘I’m not strong enough, mommy. … He then called 911.
Gavin brave and courageous attempts to save his mother’s life were recognized by the Kingston Police Department in Oklahoma. The police did it in front of his elementary classmates.
“Thank you Gavin you are a true hero and a positive light for this community,” they wrote in a Facebook post.
Lori sees her son the hero from a fairytale.
“He’s definitely my hero,” she said. “But I really do feel like he’s my guardian angel, as well.”
