Off The Record
Unjustified Criticism Of Meghan Markle’s New Show
Earlier this month, Meghan Markle—better known as Meghan Sussex—debuted her new Netflix series. The Duchess is shown entertaining a number of visitors in her kitchen on the television program “With Love, Meghan.”
Now that the show’s ratings and reviews are starting to come in, it appears that not many of them are favorable.
Nonetheless, does the Duchess genuinely merit any of this? Read on to find out more.

The Netflix series starring Meghan Markle had been in development for some time. Many people didn’t know what it would be about at first, but after the trailer was out, there were no questions left.
It was all about Meghan Markle—or Meghan Sussex, as she now chooses to be called—hosting high-profile guests at her house while offering advice on baking, cooking, gardening, and partying.
As of right now, the show has a 3/10 rating on IMDb and a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This grade is by no means excellent. Due to the California flames, Markle asked Netflix to postpone the distribution of the show, which caused a delay.
The show has received a pretty mediocre reception since its release. But people who don’t like Meghan are already very outspoken about how much they dislike the show.
Many referred to the show as “performative” and “fake.” I did not believe that the friendships portrayed were sincere. Some of the venom, meanwhile, came from those who already hold Meghan Markle in low regard.
Meghan Markle shares her hosting, baking, cooking, and gardening advice with her audience on the show. Since it is essentially a show about a woman showcasing her interpretation of hosting and homemaking, it does not appear to be anything that may generate division.
How is it possible for someone to watch it, become so dissatisfied with it that they go online and vent about it? There aren’t any plot elements in it that you may argue with the authors. It’s not a reality program where the producers exaggerate the drama to add intrigue. It’s just a woman giving advice on hosting and housework.
However, because Meghan Markle is the show’s host, others have chosen to disapprove of it and label it fake. She even faced criticism for the episode in which she discussed changing her last name to Sussex.
After marriage, women frequently alter their last names. Markle also revealed her personal motivation, which is similar to that of many women worldwide: she wanted her last name to match that of her kids. She wanted her spouse and children to know the name. Even though this explanation is completely benign and typical, it was still condemned.
However, the show was renewed for Season 2, suggesting that Netflix still perceives it as a success despite all the negative reviews.
It appears that the Duchess always finds a way to overcome the hatred of some people.
